Smooth merino wool very easy to wear, nice against the skin but works well over a smooth layer. Sleeves a good length. Not at all bulky. Neat on the shoulders. French vanilla is a lovely colour for me, a blonde spring. A blue scarf sets it off well, over pale grey jeans.- Helen (30/04/2024)

I bought the Hayley sweater in cobalt blue when it was in the sale. I wouldn't have been able to afford it at full price. I wasn't going to pass this opportunity up. Merino wool is known to keep you warm and also cool and I absolutely loved the colour. I am usually a size 10 but I find this quite roomy. I could wear something underneath if I wanted but I'm not into layering, I like to keep it simple. Styling wise I could probably do with some advice as it doesn't fall right doing a French tuck and I don't know what else to do with it. Quality is really good but I haven't washed it yet. If it wasn't for the sale I wouldn't have bought it as personally I think it's highly priced. I don't mind paying for quality but it was too much.- Susan (19/02/2024)

Many years ago, a Personal Stylist explained that it was always a good idea to buy duplicates in a style which works for you .... Perfect fit jeans? Buy 3 or 4 and pop the others in store ...... Perfect shape sweater? Buy in as many colours as work for you! It is an idea which has proved spot on over the years ..... This is my fourth Hailey .... Two in Lavender, one in Deep Kingfisher, and one in Cameo. Such a perfect long tunic style for a Petite which can easily be layered. Super soft and warm. I wore the Cameo with a narrow fit long pale denim skirt and high heeled boots for lunch with girlfriends and it was a hit. Do I really need a fifth in Navy???? Lololol- Olwen (13/02/2024)

Another lovely sweater. The quality of Kettlewell merino is excellent. I already have the Connie sweater and decided to try the Hailey. I was not disappointed. It is a more casual design than Connie. Perfect for relaxing at home or going for long country walks. There is room in my wardrobe for both styles and no doubt I will be buying both styles next winter to add to my collection. I now have 6 of the Hailey sweaters, and wear them constantly. They are warm, a good length for a tall person, and well made of excellent quality, soft wool. I bought my usual size M, after having tried the S for a closer fit for a change, but the S was a bit too close overall, although a good fit on the neck and shoulder line. The M is a little looser on the neck and shoulders than I would like, but this isn't too much of a problem. Most of this year's Spring colours were not what I was looking for , so I bought this one in Blackcurrant, which is quite radiant and has become a new favourite, and another in Cobalt Blue. These jumpers are very hard wearing - my Bright Navy one from 2017 is only just beginning to show signs of wear! Please could you do Bright Navy again next winter?- Gillian (07/02/2024)

So so pleased with this Hailey sweater. My biggest regret is taking so long to purchase one! It’s my go to top this January and I’m actually wearing it now. The fit of the medium is perfect (I’m a size 12 top) and the weight is just right for me for indoors and warm enough outside under a winter jacket. It’s so unfussy and easy to wear. Wanting a heavier weight sweater than the Mia I already have, I was very disappointed to find that my shape did not suit the Hailey, which on the right person would be lovely. It is a beautiful quality, very soft and warm, but to size up, to give me more room round the hips, would have made the shoulders too big for me and the arms too long. The Mia has much smaller shoulders and a flared shape, like me! Very sad, as I loved the weight and colour.- Valerie (17/01/2024)

My third Hailey ..... I "wishlisted" this in Lavender Marl last year and ended up with two of them as gifts - no complaints! This is my favourite cold weather jumper. At 5' tall, this works as a tunic for me and enables me to wear a KW Slinky Polo or one of my silk polos. I am a size 8 but have my jumper in a Size S. I love KW Merino which is soft and quality. I normally suffer with the dreaded "wool itch" but this truly is the only wool which doesn't cause this issue. I bought in Deep Kingfisher which is fantastic with one of my Winter neutrals, Marine Navy. I am very tempted to go back for another!- Olwen (12/01/2024)

I love these sweaters! I bought one last year and now have two. They are perfect for this time of year with a silky roll neck underneath. They are longish which adds to the warmth, and for me are like a merino version of a hetta t-shirt. I have sensitive skin and find the merino so soft and not itchy, yet it is also robust. Love the double- layer cuffs and bottom trim of the sweater too. I would love to have one in heliotrope next year.- Valerie (09/01/2024)

A fabulous jumper! I'm becoming a real fan of Kettlewell knitwear as, although rather expensive, it is such super quality and so soft and comfortable to wear. I wore this jumper for the first time on Boxing Day and just love it. Relaxed, casual style but at the same time smart too and lovely colour. Haven't washed it yet but fully expect it to wash as well as the Connie and Vickie V. Am sure I shall be buying more Hailey jumpers in the future.- Annie (04/01/2024)

This is a really good sweater, the new ones that have been released this year. I bought two and will be wearing them a lot on an upcoming trip. I workout a lot and find that Kettlewell clothes elevate my wardrobe so that I am not in workout gear 24-7. Bought two of these last year and wear them on repeat - so cosy, warm, smart. At 5'11" they are, as described, ideal for taller people. Saved up for the french vanilla and was very sad when it arrived. Body the same as my other two but sleeves significantly shorter than the others (so NOT ideal for this tall person). The neckline was also a different shape and "baggy" making it look tatty. The colour is, surprisingly, lovely on this paintbox but it's going back. Hailey merino. Dark navy The Connie merino has been my favourite for several years but I think it’s met its match. A little longer so maybe slightly more casual and less fitted, but I love the Hailey merino! It’s soft, not itchy at all, warm and gorgeous. I may just have to stretch the budget (all the clothes are becoming rather expensive) for a second one at least. I bought this as I need more of the colour silver in my wardrobe. It is such a versatile colour combing with practically all the clothes I have as a "Deep Summer". I am so glad I purchased the Hailey Merino. For me it is a perfect fit and very soft - comfortable and not at all itchy. I loved it so much I also treated myself to the orange, kingfisher and french vanilla - indulgent but am hoping they will be in my wardrobe for years as vibrant staples of my autumn colours. These have gone up by about 14% since I bought two in January to wear in a Chicago winter. I also ready had one that I bought during the pandemic. Sizing is all over the place. The two I bought in January are both two different sizes of S and M, but they both fit. The M in one was huge on me, but the other fitted. With the recent purchase, sadly I had to send it back. It was French Vanilla, and the M again was too big and, at 5ft 8ins and a large Size 12, the sleeves were just far too long and wide on me, and too wide on the hips as well where the slits are. The S fitted me okay, but then I just couldn't justify the purchase which for nearly a hundred pounds - and when on me because of its light colour I suppose - was somewhat transparent so my fern green trousers could be well and truly seen through the jumper. I just didn't like that look. A beautiful colour. I was warned by my consultant years ago that the lighter the colour, the more chances of this transparency happening. But I love the other three I now have - Citronella, Rustic Orange, and a colour I can't remember - Indian Spice or something like that. All wash well in the washing machine on cold and an 800 spin.- Una (01/11/2023)

I bought two of these sweaters as they looked lovely in the photo on the website. They were described as relaxed fit but they didn't look baggy in the photo, so I got them in Medium which is my usual size - and I'm tall and need the length. When I tried one on it was far too big, both in the body and in the sleeves, so sadly I've had to send them back. I'm not going to size down as the Small will be too short.- Carolyn (05/10/2023)

I finally bought one of these, right at the end of summer, and am glad I did. It's a lovely, super-warm cross between a sweater and a tunic. It does feel very like a double-layered Guernsey. I think it will be going with me on my next trip to the Hebrides, and anywhere else where I need something comfortingly snug. I sized down for a neat fit on the shoulders, but could have opted for a more relaxed look. Reply from Kettlewell - The Hailey is a relaxed fit sweater and a size S in this style would perhaps be more suitable for a size 10. I would suggest washing it on a cold wool cycle as that should firm it up a little. If unhappy, please do contact customers services on [email protected] as we like to try to help all our customers.

I left a review previously stating that the Large size was too loose for me. I reordered the Medium and it's perfect. It still fits my 39" bust with a bit to spare and is a better fit round my hips than the Large. My favourite cosy jumper and the geranium colour is delightfully bright. Also, although the label says to hand wash I used the hand wash cycle on my machine then dried the jumper carefully and it's still like new.- Judy (06/04/2023)

I ordered this sweater in a moment of frustration on a particularly cold day, but didn't expect to love it as much as I do! Fabulously warm and soft. I'm a busty UK 8 - 10 and ordered my usual size small. The fit is perfect. A little more relaxed than Connie - in which I size up to medium - and so easier to wear. But much neater than Evie - in which I size down to XS - and so noticeably warmer. Nice jumper, lovely soft wool. As with most K garments it's too long for my short body and therefore clings a bit where it shouldn't. Happiness is your happy colour! And that’s how I felt as soon as I put on this jumper! Apart from the colour, though, this is my new favourite jumper (and I love jumpers!) It is soft and comfortable to wear and I’ve found it to be warm without any bulk. I particularly love the slight shaping and the slits at the hem. It fits beautifully and is very flattering. I’ve already worn it lots and have inspired someone else to buy it as soon as they saw it! I am 5 ft 2 and usually size 10 and the small fits perfectly. Absolutely LOVE this sweater! My new favorite winter wool sweater! Very warm, cozy and elegant. Christmas Evening was the first time I had worn it. It hadn’t been cold enough to wear. The feel, the cut, the length and style are all perfect for me. I purchased the Rumba Red as soon as it came out this fall. Just fell in love with the color, and it’s probably as dark of a red as I can wear. I’m a Deep Summer and it’s a gorgeous shade of red on me. I’m a size US 6 and order Medium in Kettlewell tops. There is no pull across the bust, I’m a 38C which can often be too tight, in some tops. I hope Kettlewell continues the Hailey Merino Sweater. Would love to have several of these! This sweater is excellent quality and value. It is soft and squishy and very cozy. I have a 35" bust, 29" waist and 38.5" hips with broad shoulders. I am 5'10" and the medium is a perfect fit for me. I have enough room to layer a thin tee underneath for extra warmth and it skims over my hips nicely. I am a bright winter that leans towards bright spring. I started with the oatmeal for a light neutral. It has a slight rosy tint to it and works well with my coloring. I just placed an order for the Sapphire and Dark Navy. This jumper is ideal for me in Large. I am 5'11 and a size 14. The body and sleeve length are perfect. It's lovely and warm and looks lovely with matching or contrasting merino infinity scarf and the Betsy Ponte trousers in bright navy. The quality of the merino justifies the price and it washes beautifully. My challenge is the lack of proper spring colours. I've cottoned on that Kettewell crossover colours are, frankly, rubbish as a paintbox spring and just look "wrong" with the rest of my spring colours. I know cornflower is too summer and Citronella is too autumn and both would only go with specially selected items in my wardrobe. Geranium and Oatmeal are, however, just perfect, blend with all my clothing and in no way need to be thought about to make an outfit (not having to think hard about getting dressed is mostly why I had my colours done in the first place). Spring knitwear is almost impossible to find in the shops and it would be amazing to have more not crossover spring colours e.g. flamingo, bright blue, aquamarine, peach, light peach, terracotta, cinnamon, banana, tangerine and even coral.- Christina (14/12/2022)

The Hailey sweater is wonderful! It's the lovely 7 gauge merino wool like the City Poncho. It sits well round the neck and is a great longish length with side slits. Happy with Hailey The perfect winter jumper Is pretty hard to find: Too thick, too thin, too long; too short To cover your behind - Perhaps the colour doesn't suit, It neither fits not flatters, Nor goes with anything you own, Or else it's soon in tatters. But I have found the Hailey now, The colour is just right - The length is good, the neckline's neat, It's neither loose nor tight. The quality's exceptional, It doesn't rub or snag, It holds its shape and washes well, And won't become a rag. Non specific summer, mixed styles (natural, classic, gamine), 5’7”, size 10/KW small. Ordered this lovely, cosy, winter weight jumper in the gorgeous cornflower marl after trying & returning the Mia in the same colour. I was looking for a chunky relaxed fit jumper that I could wear half tucked with jeans, trousers, culottes etc. I knew I’d love the colour, but I’m afraid the style wasn’t quite what I wanted. The neckline was a bit too tight, the shape a bit too structured & not boxy enough for me. And while the quality of the knit is fantastic, it seemed a bit too chunky, too heavy, compared to the Mia & my go-to winter cashmeres. Wish there was an Evie in this colour!- Marieke (30/10/2022)

Love my soft sage sweater! I did end up trying it in 2 sizes. The medium was too overwhelming for my shape so I sized down to a small. It looks great alone, but if I want to add more shaping, I wear my denim vest over the top to show my waist. The sleeves in the small are a bit snug but not uncomfortable in any way. The Hailey jumper will be my go to jumper this winter. It feels so soft, warm and cosy. I bought my normal size, medium, and it fits perfectly. It's less fitted than the Connie. I love both of these styles. The oatmeal colour is fabulous and I'll be able to wear one of my many Kettlewell scarves with it for different pops of colour. Perfect for cold weather. Lovely weight and just the right length to cover my tummy and hips without being too long (I'm 5'6"). Beautiful soft substantial weight jumper in glorious geranium red which is a Wow colour for me. Surprisingly the large size, which is my normal Kettlewell size, just hung on me. I wasn't sure if I would like this when I ordered it as I am not normally a jumper person but I am really pleased with it. I am a summer who dips into winter occasionally (cool, soft, deep) and I ordered rumba red which I am very pleased with. I wasn't keen on the summer colours. It is a good weight, low hip on me and a very comfortable neckline which is not too high or tight. I am 5'7" and size 14. SIZE: Medium COLOUR: Lavender Marl
This is a beautiful sweater! The 7-guage knit makes it quite substantial and warm. It will definitely be cozy as the weather turns colder. The longer length works well over skinny jeans. I purchased the lavender marl which is a lovely color. The marl is achieved with white and really works well with the lavender. The quality of the Kettlewell knits is top notch and the Hailey fits right in! I'm 5'6", 124 lbs and size medium is roomy enough to skim the hips without clinging. I am really delighted with this jumper it fits really well and is very good quality. The colour (Lavender Marl) is a true lilac. It is a lovely heavy weight so it will be warm but looks great as a tunic style jumper. I ware it with a violet willow scarf.- Liz (15/10/2022)

Another big success for Kettlewell. Can’t really add much to other positive reviews except to say Lavender marl is perfect! I ordered my usual size S and an XS to try. The XS fits fine, but would be a bit snug with another layer underneath so kept the S which still as a slightly fitted shape but more flow.- Toots (11/10/2022)

This another wow! from me! I love Kettlewell jumpers and knitwear. Yes, they are expensive, but the stying and colours are excellent. I purchased this one in Cornflower marl, mainly to go with jeans, but it could be a great knit to wear formally too, with a jacket over. You won’t be disappointed. Recommended.- Lindy (05/10/2022)

I’m a Blue Spring, Romantic-Natural, and I bought this in Geranium Red, which is a glorious colour! Being a 7-gauge knit, it is thicker than Kettlewell merino sweaters that I have bought in the past and is perfect for both Autumn and Winter wear. The sleeves are quite long, which is wonderful for me, but I can foresee many having to turn the cuffs up. I wear it with the Merino Infinity Scarf in the same colour, which gives the illusion of a cowl neck. A lovely warm and cosy sweater which I highly recommend.- Sian (30/09/2022)
