I think I was put off by other ladies who didn't like the Robyn Jacket so decided not to purchase. Even when they were in the sale I wasn't interested, but after a while I thought that I might as well try the Lipstick and see as I have trouble finding jackets that suit me. Anyway it was a hit with me, just worn loose. Perhaps its my shape, broad shoulders, small bust and slim and 5' 6'' tall. I then had a look to see whether there anymore summer colours but Smoked Grape was the only one but it looked very dark, I don't do dark. When it arrived I thought that it was nice albeit a bit dark then decided to keep it as I could brighten it with my many infinities, tops etc that I own. So these are a winner with me and I like the material too!- Sandra (27/03/2024)

To be honest, I ordered the Robyn jacket owing to the sale price. I was put off by the belt but read on KCC that some ladies had successfully removed the belt loops. I have done the same and love it, actually more than I expected to. The fabric feels substantial and it is quite a warm layer. I have worn it with smart and casual outfits and love the pockets. I think it will be versatile and useful throughout the seasons. It actually feels quite luxurious.- Judith (07/02/2024)

I have this jacket in 3 colors: Poppy, Walnut and soft Gray. I absolutely love the luxurious feel of the fabric, and it's weight is perfect for layering. My body shape does not do well with belts, so I wear it beltless, or with the belt tied in back. I wear trousers more than skirts and this jacket looks great with either. I wanted a long topper with waist definition, and this fit the bill. Fabric falls well and feels heavy and slightly stretchy. I love the color (exactly as pictured) and pockets. Downsides: unstructured and baggy; left lapel won't lie flat. Belting it doesn't suit me, so I wear the belt as a choker/scarf. All in all, it is too unstructured for true versatility, but I find I reach for it a lot.- Karen (01/12/2023)

A lovely colour and very useful jacket. I too took the belt loops off because it looks better on me that way. I bought it in the sale and am happy with it. In the video it was described as having some structure but I don’t feel that is the case. The material is stretchy, unlike the shorter Kettlewell faux-suede jackets I own and love. However, it too wears and washes very well and I think I will get a lot of wear out of it. The gorgeous red makes me want to put it on quite often and it always gives me a lift.- Mona (01/11/2023)

I had dismissed the idea of buying this jacket as I do not like belted items on me (I look like a sack of potatoes where others look so elegant). However, I was tempted by the reduction in price and am so pleased that I was. I took off the belt loops (easily done) and wear it without belt. Yes, it is rather shapeless and boxy - but that suits my column shape body. I wear it casually with jeans and trousers. The fabric feels so soft and luxurious - it's like putting on a big hug. The Walnut colour was also a surprise hit with me. So, all in all, I am very pleased with this purchase - especially at the lower price (I'm from Yorkshire - I love a bargain!) The Smoked Grape color was great and the fabric was soft, but the jacket ran big and boxy on me. The lapels also didn't lay down right. It seemed especially broad across the shoulders.- Andrea (28/09/2023)

I was disappointed in this. The colour was not to my eyes grey as described but taupe. I should have returned it as it doesn’t go with any of my clothes but sadly I never got round to it. Haven’t worn it- Caroline (07/08/2023)

A perfect jacket in a perfect color. This jacket is a basic in my wardrobe. I love wearing it with slacks, jeans, leggings & pencil/runched skirts The fabric is soft & comfy. The poppy is a wow color for me and I use it as a neutral with my Autumn season color group. Wearing it belted gives the outfit a tailored, structured look, unbelted it becomes a casual look. I had such high hopes for this jacket - the peach-effect fabric is lovely and the soft grey is a perfect neutral. I was looking for a relatively informal jacket to throw over jeans and a t-shirt - somewhere between a blazer and a long cardigan. Size-wise (bought size L), and length-wise the jacket was fine for me - I am 5'3'', size16, broad shoulders. The angled pockets are also perfect for a short-waisted person. However, I am sending it back for two reasons - the double seam below the pocket does not lie flat which makes it look cheap. Secondly, while the collar has lovely structure, the bottom edge of the jacket just hangs without any real definition. This is partly because it is unlined (which I like), so does not have the weight. There is more weight in the collar because that is double-layered. Maybe a wider facing at the lower edge and perhaps making the edge more rounded (like a blazer) would give it a bit more weight and definition.- Ingrid (30/07/2023)

I had looked at this jacket for a long time. Sultry navy is very good color for me, and I loved the longer, belted style. I am 5.4 and the length is perfect. I will get a lot of use out of it. Love it so much I would like the walnut too.- Anita (28/07/2023)

Lovely soft fabric and beautifully made. Its really a gorgeous jacket. I'm 5'3" and the jacket was just too long and shaped wrong for my hourglass figure. Its wider in the hips than the bust and did not flatter me when tied or open so sadly returned it.- Kathie (20/07/2023)

I absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous lipstick pink color, but sadly, the style didn't work for me. As a neat hourglass, I thought it would look good belted, but it didn't. It looked better with the belt tied behind, but worn like that it felt a bit too unstructured, and was also too long on me. The fabric felt so nice and soft to the touch, but had a clingy quality. i really hope that KW will offer this perfect pink again in other items in the future.- KH (17/07/2023)

I so wanted this jacket to work for me as I really like the belted wrap style and the style is flattering on me, but I ended up returning it. I loved the beautiful sultry navy color. I felt that the size L didn't have the ease I want in a jacket and that sizing up to LL wasn't likely to work. (By measurement, I am a UK Size 10 and usually order size L.) I also couldn't decide if the fabric felt "silky" or "slimy." In the end, I realized I didn't want the 100% polyester fabric. It had a slight sheen and I thought that that sheen might turn into a shine at the common points of wear such as the cuffs, the belt, etc., and would not be a good investment in the long run.- Jill (10/05/2023)

This is a considered purchase, no doubt, but I just had to try it in sultry navy as a neutral that will go so well with my green, teal, laguna, brick red and rust tops in my blue autumn wardrobe. I already have a Rachel in coffee so I knew the fabric was luxurious and washed well, but I wanted a longer style that would go over my bottom, elongate my body and work well with my KW straight and wide leg trousers, and it does. I love it! The lovely relaxed fit suits my natural romantic personality. I love the pocket position and it goes well as a supporting act to my varied scarf collection. I am a bit disappointed with the belt as it sits a little high for my liking when done up and even in an LL the wrap over isn't much, but I like to wear it with the belt loosely tied behind so that's OK. I may use a small safety pin just to be sure I don't lose it but it can be fully removed instead and used with other outfits.- Deborah (07/04/2023)

Dear Friends- I’m so delighted with my Robyn Jacket! The fabric is luxurious, but more than that, your colors are superb. I’m having more fun shopping with you than I have in years. Thank you ever so much. The very idea of helping us dress to our best colors is so fresh and useful. I haven’t had this much fun shopping in ages. You make me look so good. Now, I’m quite tempted to buy every piece I love in MY correct color. I just look better in your clothes, I have some larger sized girlfriends who would join us if they could have their (rather large American) sizes. I certainly am not telling to cater to plumper ladies, but you might consider sizing up a bit. Meanwhile, my Clothing Allowance is all yours! I’ve been resisting this jacket since it first appeared simply because of the belted style. I need a longer jacket than the Chloe and Rachel but look awful in a belt. I’d been hoping for something like the Cate in the new season but sadly they’re all shorter. Someone in a previous review mentioned removing the belt loops (thank you, I wasn’t sure if that would work!) so I ordered Robyn in Smoked Grape and I love it. So much so that I’ve just ordered Soft Grey as well. I’ll probably remove the loops as it doesn’t look great belted and the tied behind version just looks untidy on me. It’s a nice weight and a lovely soft fabric, just a bit warmer and dressier than the wraps. And the pockets are great.- Pat (02/03/2023)

5'8" Soft Dramatic, Blue Spring w/ red hair and blue eyes My review is not a critique of the jacket but to share info on why this beautiful jacket did not work for me based on my body type and sub season color palette. As a soft dramatic, the sleeve length was too short and I needed more fabric to wrap in the front as it gapped too much in the front. I completely understand why it does not overlap more due to the cleverly placed pockets. (Really nice touch). And I discovered why it does not stay closed. (A tip for people who have this jacket but wear w/o the belt). When you tie it, tie it off- center, right at the edge where the top fabric meets the other side when wrapping. That 'pins' it in place and the jacket front will not open. :). This jacket is so soft it can slip open otherwise. The color was not the best for me personally as a bit too soft, but it is a gorgeous color. I imagine petite ladies would love this jacket.- Melissa (09/02/2023)

Very nice jacket, well tailored and washes well. Received the lipstick pink, and it is a lovely bright cheery color. Received the small and am 5 ft 4 and 112 lbs. I am pleased with the jacket but think I should have bought a size larger if I want to wear the tie belt fastened.I have removed the belt loops and will wear the jacket loose.I prefer the structure of the Rachael jacket as it fits my shoulders better.Hopefully I will grow to like this jacket better.- Ann (21/12/2022)

I am a Winter, but tonally Clear dominant, so I decided to slip outside my palette and try Poppy. I thought it would suit me (and my style personality) better than Lipstick Pink, and that the material might make a difference to the dye. It is slightly lighter than True Red and a tiny bit warmer, but mixes well with most of the neutrals in my wardrobe. If any other Winters who are also Clear have been attracted to the Poppy version, maybe give it a try? Material feels soft but substantial, and it's a useful piece that will span the seasons.- Helen (15/11/2022)

I had to have this in the lipstick pink as soon as I saw it!! I absolutely love it!!! It is the perfect length for skirts, dress pants and jeans. The fabric is so soft and stretchy and the color is amazing. It is high quality and very well made. I purchased it in a small. For reference 35-27-35 inches for measurements. I also tried it with a regular belt and it gave the jacket a more elegant look. I ordered it in 4 other colors and the only problem I have it that I love every color!!! This is very versatile and I plan to use it as a staple to my wardrobe. I highly recommend this jacket.- Linda (19/10/2022)

Beautiful fabric. Comfortable, and a good length. If you are between sizes and intend to wear the jacket closed, suggest to size up. Not a fan of the included soft tie belt but Looks great if that belt is replaced with something more structured. Would love to see this in subsequent seasons in additional colors.- Jani (17/10/2022)

I wanted this jacket as soon as I saw it - the Lipstick Pink is such a vibrant, beautiful color! And I have been wanting a longer jacket. I do like it but…it’s very soft and kind of feels like wearing a robe. Nothing wrong with that I guess but I was expecting something a bit more structured and polished. Also, when I wrapped it and tied the belt, it was so soft, it just wouldn’t stay tied - this was very frustrating! It probably wears better with the belt tied in the back as shown in the product video. Given these issues and the high price of this item, I’m probably going to return it. :(- victoria (18/09/2022)

Thank you for a long jacket! The material is so soft that it feels like wearing a hug! Wonderful that there are options to wear it - can be worn belted which would not suit this pear shaped body at all, but worn open and straight it looks amazing on my body type. I am removing the belt loops and will use the belt elsewhere as a belt tied behind my back would get caught on the chairs at work, but that is an easy fix. The LL was true to size and the lipstick pink a very vibrant color for a sweet pea summer, but nothing like a pop of color to lighten the mood in winter months.- JANE (18/09/2022)

Kettlewell you’ve done it again!! I’d been looking for a longer jacket and this one fits the bill perfectly. The fit is spot on, length covers my bum but doesn’t drag too long, arms just right (others can feel a little tight over a jumper) and the belt loops are substantial enough to hold the belt in place…it’s even washable!! but the stand out feature is how amazingly soft and luxurious the fabric feels. This jacket looks and feels much more expensive than it actually is. I’ve got this in soft grey and excited to pair with the royal blue beret when it’s in stock.
