I bought this for my grandmother who needed some spring colours! She loves this top, it's really soft and comfy and she appreciates the double layers which skim over her tummy area. It looks great with lots of different layers like an open shirt or a cardigan so it's very versatile especially as a transition piece. Pink geranium is very pretty! Although I measure as a Medium on the Kettlewell size chart, I found that the Jackie top I had ordered previously in a different colour looks too loose on me. So I ordered this one in Small, and it is a much better fit on my narrow shoulders while also being large enough to disguise my tummy. This is my second Jackie top. Poppy red is perfect for a Blue Paintbox Spring, even better than my first blue Jackie top. Love its forgiving shape which skims without bulk or bagginess. Sleeve length (to elbow) very flattering. Much dressier than a standard t-shirt. Sized up this time as I am between Kettlewell M&L and fit is still excellent. Purchased Navy & Fuchsia Rose in Medium (Usual size) but being short waisted I was concerned about where the layers lay & if they would emphasise my shape. Happily I can tuck or untuck depending on what proportion I want to create. Untucked can visually lengthen the torso & tucked creates a lovely flutter effect & minimises my short torso. Fabric quality is good & well made. I will purchase this top in more colours in the future.- Anne (05/09/2023)

These are soooo comfortable to wear. I bought three colours in the sale and are chuffed as I am a homeworker and look very professional with or without adding a nice scarf. The extra layer hides my size very well. The fabric is heavy though when wet after washing and it dried well outside but I am not sure how quick it will dry inside during the winter.- Yo (29/08/2023)

Love it. I now have 3 different colors in this shirt. The lizard gray is my favorite. It is super comfortable. The outer layer helps hide my rolls. The layer next to my skin is soft and complements my waistline. I usually wear a 3/4 sleeve to hide my heavy upper arms. The arms on this shirt are not form fitting and are long enough to cover my bat wings. I have been wearing it comfortably in 100 degree temperatures. I expect to wear it through fall and spring as well. I can wear it with jeans or dress it up with a silk scarf and chiffon wide leg pants. Thank you, Kettlewell.- Diane (24/08/2023)

I am often in two minds whether to buy a small or medium top. With this style, I was right to buy small. Although the under part of the top is quite snug, the outer free flowing part looks neat, not oversized which I think is important with this style. Being double layered, it is good for cooler days(or most days at the moment). Being a winter, the bright white was just right for my colour.. younger daughter said the effect was flattering. Lovely soft and stylish top, works well with print infinity scarf. Sizing is true and double layer gives a nice effect and feels substantial. Fabric is quite delicate and could catch. Nightshade is a beautiful subtle blue/mauve for soft summer types.- DF68 (14/08/2023)

I love the clever design of the Jackie with it's fitted layer underneath (which can be tucked in or left out) and lose swing top layer - so forgiving! A little warm for really hot and humid weather but perfect most of the time for me as I often wear a cami anyway. I've found a colour I love in the lemonade whereas other yellows just don't work for me. I have several of these because they work so well.- Sally (07/08/2023)

I like the Jackie style with it's loose top layer, which adds movement and hides my tummy. The layer underneath can be tucked in or left outside. I love the lemonade colour. I've never found yellows work for me but once I tried this I loved it.- Sally (31/07/2023)

This is the third Jackie top I purchased during the sale. Love these tops! Perfect for summer. They cover the lumps and bumps without having to add a jacket. Regatta blue is brighter than it looks in the picture. It seems more like a spring/winter share than a spring/summer share. However, this summer doesn't mind going a little bright as long as the colour isn't too intense or warm. Very pretty!- Marguerite (27/07/2023)

I have been buying the Jackie and Lulu tops for several years now. Flattering to short waisted folks and those who want to disguise a muffin top. (Not that I have either!) I like this layered top very much. The color, Chalk White, is perfect, and I can't always say that about whites. I'm a summer, and sometimes I don't get it just right. The layered effect is quite flattering; I can show off a flat tummy and still have a little swing from the outside layer. That said, this piece is more weighty than I expected it to be. Arrived very quickly. Lovely colour, fuchsia. The sleeves aren't terribly flattering, bell shape, neither long nor short, or even 3/4 length. The fabric is heavy, so only suitable for a cool summer day. The fit (med) is good.- Clare (03/06/2023)

I ordered two of these, being a great fan of the Lulu and Gemma styles. I found the fit of the Jackie to be a little less generous than the others. The Violet top fitted OK, but the Regatta Blue was distinctly tight and had to go back, I'm afraid. Being ample-bosomed I prefer the lower scoop of the old Gemma style.- Rosie (17/05/2023)

Really pleased you have introduced an XL size. TheJackie top fitted great on the shoulders and bust, but 61” of material around the hips was far too much, looked like a bell tent. Loved the style as I tried tucking the underneath layer in a skirt and it would have been so useful except for the fullness of the top layer - pity, lovely quality material.- Ann (18/04/2023)

Very useful top for many occasions but not a great look on my particular shape. It hangs beautifully and covers a multitude of sins which is why I have kept it. Round necks tend to enhance the bust on those of us who are well blessed in that area and I would love to see this top in a boat or slash neck as they seem to give more balance. These double layer tops are so stylish and flattering. The only thing about Kettlewell tops is that they are made of very thick material which can be hot in the Summertime. That is because they are very good quality but they defo feel a bit warm on hot days.- vicky (01/07/2022)

I have the Jackie layered top in three colours now and love them all! All I can say is what I have already said in my reviews, that they are incredibly versatile and so comfy. The fit and quality is spot on. They are so suitable for many occasions. This colour is more vibrant than I was expecting but is ideal for that pop of colour to lift your spirits. I just love the Jackie layered top in any colour - I now have three. The grey is a beautiful shade and goes with anything. It's very versatile, in that it can be casual or dressed up depending on what is worn with, and by adding accessories can be suitable for the smartest of occasions. I am size 16 and purchased the LL which is a perfect fit. I think the underlayer is a little shorter than it used to be but not enough to make a huge difference. Bought this for mu Summer 91 year old mum who loves her clothes but at only 5'3ish now, and a size 18 just finds things too long and far too wide on the shoulders, but this is perfect!! I love the "layered top"...it's so flattering over my midriff and gives the illusion of a smaller waist. I'd LOVE to see it in a modest "V" neck...and I'd really love to see it in cotton!. A lovely top. Beautiful rich colour. Very flattering. The only think I would say against it is that it is quite hot to wear as it is double layered so I wouldn't buy it again with these shortish sleeves. I would go for the long-sleeved version and see it as a winter top.- Eileen (07/06/2022)

After the success of the Lulu top which really did cover my bulgy middle bits and actually hid my short-waistedness rather than drew attention to it, I thought I’d try the Mimi top for summer as it was styled on the same lines as Lulu. I ordered it in amber - but alas I was disappointed. A beautiful top, a wonderful colour but very sadly the armholes left my underarms very visible and it became obvious that I need to do a lot more Pilates. But, right on time in the newsletter, I saw the new Jackie top which was not yet even on the website. I rang Kettlewell and a helpful lady talked me through the colours & sizes it would be in and I sent Mimi back to exchange for a Jackie in Apricot. Thank you Kettlewell for your excellent service! I am so delighted with finding the Jackie Layered Top. Unfortunately my tummy is larger than my body should be so I have a hard time with the tops which fit my shoulders. I am petite 5ft2 and with a stomach that needs to be tucked in. This top let’s the top piece float at a nice spot for a short waisted person. The under layer firmly tucks in and hides the lumps and bumps. I also like having short sleeves that cover the upper arm. This does the job. Yes, I ordered in all my colours. I love this top. I tried the medium and large. I am size 14 on top and 34E bust. I finally decided on the large as the under layer on the medium was clingy and you could see this through the top layer. The top layer in the large is quite floaty on me but that is the style so I am happy. The under layer in the large is a tiny bit looser that I would like but not a deal breaker. I am 5ft so this top is a good length for me and I love the fact that the neckline is not too low. The Lemonade colour is wonderful. A little burst of sunshine.- Linda (06/05/2022)
