I think this is my favorite Kettlewell piece. I love the fabric, size and color. I have tried other Kettlewell bottoms and dresses and none fit because of my pear shaped body. Please have more skirts available for Winters in size L. Thank you.- Katharina (07/05/2024)

Love these short pointe skirts. This is my second one and although this is not a Winter colour it does go with several of my Winter tops. It is lovely material, a good weight and hangs well.. the fit and length is good for me - size 14 and 5’3”. A very smart and versatile skirt.- Sue (16/01/2024)

I have not worn this skirt because its too warm for our summer season. I love the pencil cut and the weight of the material is quite supportive for smoothing out some of the lumps. I am 153cm tall and the skirt sits just below my knees, but it can be pulled up to appear shorter. I look forward to seeing more winter colours in this skirt.- Tash (05/01/2024)

Absolutely gorgeous skirt, I’m not usually a skirt person, but I feel and look amazing in the short ponte skirt. The weight of the fabric gives the skirt structure without it being to heavy. Looks absolutely perfect with the matching Ada top Hope to see more colours introduced- Ali (20/12/2023)

I purchased this skirt in a Medium and LL in periwinkle. I love pencil skirts and have learned that I really need a large in this style. Unfortunately L was out of stock. I definitely will be watching for this style in another color to fit my wardrobe and spring colors. I am sure the L will work perfectly. I will say the quality is great, the weight of the fabric should be perfect for all seasons. This is a lovely skirt. It is well made , comes in great colours, is a good length and fit ( I am 5 ft 3 ins size 14) and the material is a good weight and hangs well - not at all clingy on me. - which as it is not lined is good. I just wish it came with hanging and belt loops. I have worn it several times already both with a casual contrasting top and with a matching Kettlewell dark navy top and contrast belt to make a “dress”. Oh wow! Despite being mostly a jeans/jeggings person, I've been looking all summer for a skirt style that suits me and I've finally found it! I absolutely love the short ponte skirt and have bought it in two colours. So very comfortable with the stretchy fabric which follows my curvy hips, and the periwinkle and true teal are fabulous colours for this Spring - and make great neutrals. The length is perfect for me at 5ft 1.75in, hitting right on the knee. I'm hoping for more colours next season so I can add to my collection.- Tris (14/08/2023)

Really excellent skirt. Good length on me despite being only 5ft 1”. Can slide it up and down a bit to change length. Substantial fabric with a little give means it smooths over those bumps and gives quite a lean outline (altho’ I’m not so lean) I bought it in Neon Pink to match the Karin Ponte top. Looks stunning. I was surprised how much I liked this skirt, I love the supportive feel of it, its length, the flexibilty (I tend to pull it down to just below my waist and it then falls below my knees at 5'5"), love the kelly green colour. It is casual but could easily be dressed up, a very simple design, I much prefer it to the ruched skirt, more to it, a bit more structure! Only reservation was the price, very nearly returned as I do think it is expensive for a simple casual skirt, will look out for another if they go into the sale!- Deborah (15/07/2023)

I thought that the ruched skirt was the love of my life-and then along came the Ponte short skirt! I am 5”7, short-waisted with a 30” inseam.. This skirt hits me at that sweet spot right above the knee. The material is structured and thick enough to provide great coverage so no lumps and bumps, but not too heavy for our summers. It has great stretch, even better than the ruched skirt, so is very easy to move in.. This skirt will be replacing my shorts for travel. Bravo, Kettlewell! Although shorter than I would normally wear, when worn with trainers and casual tops, it feels fine. I am also on the lookout for nude fishnet tights to provide a bit of leg cover after I heard the suggestion from someone else. I love this skirt! The length is flattering and at 5’4” it hits my knees at just the right place. It’s versatile and can be worn with jumpers, tops and blouses of different weights and the colour I chose (True Teal) goes with a lot of my clothing. I was delighted to discover a straight short skirt for the SS23 and it didn't disappoint ! I bought a size L ( normally I take a size M) to get a slightly longer skirt ( I am 5.7/ 171 cm tall and use a size M - at times L ( Inverse triangle shape) ). The L is just about knee length on me. It is stylish, infinitely versatile (easy to dress up and down), good quality and super comfortable. I am afraid I bought several including in neon pink, periwinkle and green ( I am a blue spring/ sprinter winter so went for all the clear colours). For those of you who remember When Harry met Sally... YES YES YES This skirt ticks all the boxes. I am an hour glass which suits this style. It is (of course) well made and firm for possible lumps and bumps. Washes like a dream And the Teal goes so well with many tops. I love it...in case you hadn't already guessed. I bought this skirt in size small to avoid too much clinging at the hips and then got the waist taken in. The fabric is quite comfortable, and the skirt length (after the waist alteration) falls right at the top of my knee. Neon Pink is a stunning color! I would like to see this skirt in other vibrant Winter hues - True Red (or Cherry), Sapphire (or Cobalt Blue), and Emerald. Having pleaded for straight short skirts in plain colours, I have to say I'm delighted! The Ponte fabric has just the right degree of stretch to allow movement without being baggy. Length is above the knee on my 5’8” frame, but not micro mini. . So now I’m after more colours!- Carol (24/04/2023)

I am delighted with everything about this skirt. The Ponte material holds its shape very well, which is always an advantage, especially with a straight skirt. Dove Grey is one of my best colours, such a useful neutral year-round, and I really wish that the Karina top had come in this colour as well. I am 5ft 2in, UK size 12, and the skirt is just the right length for me, falling on the knee. I am happy to wear a Large in this style, although I think the Medium would have fitted, but a bit too closely for my liking!- Susan (21/04/2023)

I love the bright Neon Pink color! This skirt is just the right length for me. This skirt will need to have the waist taken in, but as an hourglass, this is a common occurrence in almost everything that I buy, so I don't mind. The fabric is substantial and looks great!- Eileen (15/04/2023)

I love this skirt - it's the perfect length and style for me, and I really want to buy all of the spring colours! It also looks fantastic with the Karina Ponte top as a stylish shift dress - either in the same colour or a different one to create a colour block effect. I particularly like it with the Apple Mint but all of the colours would work. I am usually between an XS and S in Kettlewell so ordered both to try, and ended up keeping the S as I didn't want to be worried about it being too figure-hugging. The S is fine, if a bit loose around the waist, but it works well. I'm 5"4' (and a bit!) and it sits above the knee which is what I prefer (but not too short!) The material is a good weight and quality. A lovely versatile skirt for those of us who don't love the midi and full styles that are so prevalent at the moment.- Christine (11/04/2023)

I love this skirt and I have to admit to having 4 of them! I am 5ft and find the midi and maxi skirts too long and A line skirts do not suit me. I thought I was going to love this skirt! I’m a size 10 on top, size 12 on bottom. A lot of KW skirts cling to my tummy (result of two C sections) and this was no different but because it’s so fitting, there was no foregiveness. Perhaps I should have tried it in the size Large? I am loving these new short skirts! They look so nice with the Karina top, making it look like a dress. The fabric is quite substantial and so I needed to size up. Sizing up makes the waist a little big on me, but I can tug down a bit for a better fit. I bought the Neon Pink, which is a gorgeous color!- KH (06/04/2023)

Very pleased with the wearability and quality of this neat skirt. M is a perfect fit for this UK 12. At 5'7" this lands just above the knee, on me. Looks great with my Blue Jewel Sara, Seaspray Rachel jacket, and an orange scarf (Spring). I've also successfully put it with a Chinese blue wrap and bluebell mock tee, also with a bright red. The fabric is a good weight, with some stretch. I have it in Stone too, a beautiful, calm grown-up neutral. These skirts look great with the Karina ponte top as a more formal look, with the effect of a classic dress. Very comfortable.- Helen (13/03/2023)

I had been hoping Kettlewell would bring out a short straight skirt in plain colours and was delighted to see this one. I am a UK 12, 37.5 hip 32” waist and the M is a perfect fit, not too tight or loose. I’m fairly tall and it finishes above the knee. I wear it with lace up flat boots or low heel ankle boots, and tights. I’m a Spring. The Kelly green looks good with cream, camel or beige, also red and pink, also other greens and blues… orange accessories… I’ll use it a lot. I prefer a neat top half with it, like a Sara v or Cara v tucked in, or a neat cardigan. A silky roll neck and jacket or wrap looks good too.
