Styling this season's prints - for Winters

As a Winter, your ideal prints reflect all the best things about your seasonal palette. They feature bold, vibrant, cool toned colours, and usually feature high contrast (although the contrast can also come elsewhere in your outfit). Let's take a look at some of this season's prints and how to turn them into outfits to wow this autumn/winter.

Style notes

Is there anything cooler than a Breton top? Our relaxed fit Monaco Top is the ultimate in effortless chic, while the 100% cotton interlock keeps it cosy feeling (there's also room to layer a cami underneath!). The neutral and bright offers some contrast, so keep the rest of your outfit block colours for a minimalist feel. I love pairing simple prints with a contrasting colour, like the Sangria Chloe Jacket, for a modern, not too matchy matchy outfit that still feels effortless and adds even more brightness and contrast.

Style notes

Wearing an all-over print can feel a little intimidating, so I've kept this outfit somewhat tonal to stop it becoming overwhelming - I've stuck to shades of pink to add to the look. Layering up the Pink Ice Silky Scoop and Cranberry Vintage collar keeps the look cosy and cold weather ready, but because they pick out shades that harmonise with the print of the dress, doesn't feel overboard on the colour front. If I wanted to add a cosy top layer I might go for a Light Navy Chloe Jacket, picking out and harmonising with the Indigo from the print or the Aurelia Long Cardi.

One final thing

Because we have so many prints this season (hurrah!), it's simply impossible for me to show you every styling option for every print for each season, so I've shown a selection of three here, with another three options in your 'partner' bright and clear palette, Spring. So if you want even more colour inspiration, which just needs a little translation to work for your cool, clear seasonal palette, head over to the Spring blog post for more styling tips and ideas.

How gorgeous is our flirty new Millie Skirt? I love the combination of retro check print and feminine styling. I've gone bold with this colour combination, proving that prints can pair with colour and contrast just as easily as they do with neutrals. Neat ankle boots and black opaques will keep this look cosy but pretty.
