New year colour resolutions for Winters

The Winter palette lends itself to colour incredibly well, with its bold, high contrast looks and high vibrancy colours, but the truth is that an awful lot of Winters get stuck in a non-colour rut. With your neutral shades - black, navy, white and grey - being so incredibly easy to find, it's always tempting to go for them and leave the bold brights for another day.

But not this new year. Now is the time to start adding those splashes of colour back in, the ones that lift and add contrast to your look and really bring out the bright clarity in your skintone and eyes.

I've picked three of my favourite Winter colours, all of which are said to be mood improving shades (because who couldn't use a little colour psychology lift on top of looking better?), and shown you how to incorporate them into your look. And, as always, I'm easing you in gently with your foolproof 'neutral + neutral + colour pop' formula before asking you to go for full on colour in my final outfit choice.
