New year colour resolutions

We're almost a fortnight into the new year, and the novelty of those self-punishing new years resolutions is beginning to wear off a little, right? Maybe it's time for a resolution you'll want to keep all year round - a new year, new colour resolution. Let's make 2020 your year to experiment with colour.

With the days at their greyest and most bleak, the excitement of Christmas gone, and a long time to wait until the new shoots begin to herald the start of spring, now is the perfect time to lift your spirits with a shot of colour

Wearing colour might feel a little scary - it takes far more confidence to wear Canary Yellow than Chocolate Brown, for instance - but wearing the colours that make you look your best will not only make your eyes sparkle and your skin glow, but make you feel your best, your most confident and brightest, from the inside out. This applies even more so if you choose shades that are known for their uplifting qualities - green, for instance, is known as the colour of energy, life and the natural environment. Choosing to wear (your best version of...) green will mean looking your best but also an energising shade that will get you up and going in the morning and keep you feeling positive throughout the day.

Whatever colour you choose, knowing your seasonal palette is the starting point, discovering the shades that make you look and feel amazing and really flatter and brighten your skintone. If you don't yet know your seasonal palette, try our colour quiz but for a more thorough analysis, why not consider a colour consultation? You can find one of our recommended colour stylists near you by visiting this page on our website. Once you've done that, or if you already know your seasonal palette, click on the appropriate link below to discover which shades are going to form part of your new year colour resolution and lift your spirits through the final cold months of winter.

Had my colours done 12 years ago and have never looked back. I love wearing colour, it builds confidence and makes a statement - made me stand out and actually got two lots of promotion!

I have started wearing colour after years of monochrome. People have noticed , and commented favourably, which is nice!! Kettlewell colours are lovely, bright and flattering and I enjoy reading the helpful blogs. (Reduced prices are always lovely also!!)
