Beautiful velvet skirt, bought in Kingfisher as I'm trying to add more green to my deep summer wardrobe. What a colour, it practically glows. Very good quality, soft and warm fabric, it looks great with my slate Rachel jacket. The slight stretch means it's so comfortable. Bought an LL as I'm a 16/18. 5ft 4ins so it's long on me but thats just what I wanted - thanks Kettlewell!- Julia (22/03/2024)

I love the bright copper velvet fabric and wore it to a Christmas party with ankle boots and a brown shirt. and received very positive comments. The cut was disappointing being too long even for someone 5'10" tall. It was also too wide at the waist.- Charlotte (27/12/2023)

I really do love my blueberry velvet skirt. I'm a 12, 5'6" and the medium fits me well. I would say my body shape is between hourglass and column. I have had so many compliments when I've worn it. Delighted with this gorgeous royal blue velvet skirt which I bought together with the matching tie/belt. The fabric feels very soft and luxurious and because of the bias cut and my weighty tummy I went for the largest size which was a wise decision. I am very happy with this skirt. I love the soft, silky feel of the velvet and the way the skirt hangs. I am 5ft. 2inches and it came down to my ankles so I got it altered and it now has four inches off the length. The intense colour of this skirt is glorious! It’s also very easy to wear . I’ve worn it with assorted KW summer T shirt tops with a black leather jacket or the Rachel in Cosmos Purple ( AND I now have a pair of purple shoes to go with it!!). It looks lovely with the Connie in silver , or indeed, any sweater … plus either a patterned infinity scarf or CGS…which I have in jewel lobelia and a bright pink. As others have said, this skirt has a strange cut. I take a Medium in KW skirts usually - sometimes, like in the case of the Vivienne, a Small. But I cannot get a satisfactory fit in this, even going up to a Large. It is a shame, as it is a beautiful skirt - the Blueberry velvet is lush in colour and texture, but the cut, on the bias, is odd. In the Medium it fits my waist and hugs my hips tight, but the skirt falls too narrowly, without the movement I would expect from the “flare” so the velvet does not show to effect. In the Large I can get the velvet flare as I expected, but the waistband gapes. Undecided whether it is worth getting the larger one taken in to fit - the material and colour are gorgeous.- Sally (26/10/2023)

I ordered the blueberry skirt, and it is a beautiful (and warm) skirt. I have been dithering as I like it so much, but there's something about the fit that doesn't work on me. It's too big round the waist and a little snug on the tummy. Because of that, and perhaps because of my short-waisted body, it gathers up just under the waist band which means I could never wear it tucked in. I was very pleasantly surprised by this skirt and it arrived on my birthday! Being a turquoise-oholic, I find the kingfisher to be an exquisite jewel shade of turquoise, impossible to photograph accurately and far nicer than the online photos, gorgeous with my white V sleeveless top and turquoise short tie wrap. It is tight and unforgiving over the stomach but I am definitely hoping to lose more weight! I would say the sizing is fairly generous. Mine looked reasonable coming out of te bag, the nature of velvet does mean that the shading of the material is uneven. I love it, be great with boots and baggy jumper in Winter and beautiful as an evening skirt, I wish there was a matching long sleeve top to make it look like a dress!- Deborah (17/10/2023)

I had high hopes for this skirt as the fabric is gorgeous, soft and winter weight. Unfortunately my usual size Medium which I take in Alice, maxi and weekend skirts was too small as there is less stretch in the velvet fabric. The large size was too loose and baggy around waist and hips. Style not for me unfortunately but the colour was lovely.- Lynne (14/10/2023)

Disappointing. Lovely colours and a heavy weight fabric but it is an odd cut. I have several Kettlewell skirts. All size large. The cut is very slim so the skirt does not fall very well. The elastic waist is also very firm. I don’t think a size bigger would help. Did not suit me.- Julia (10/10/2023)
