This knitted midi skirt is designed to move effortlessly between work, weekends and even partywear. Made from soft merino wool, it is breathable and soft while its natural stretch ensures a flattering fit that’s comfortable, too. The straight cut is fitted at the waist with a thick elasticated waistband, giving a smooth fit that feels secure yet easy to wear. Care
Hand wash with a wool detergent.
When washing by hand, avoid twisting or wringing as this may damage the wool. Do not use fabric conditioner when washing.
To remove excess water from the garment we recommend wrapping in a towel and gently squeezing before leaving the item to dry. Do not put on a spin cycle. Lay the garment flat - do not hang your wool garments and allow to dry naturally away from all artificial heat sources

Write a reviewI tried this with some trepidation, as I was worried that it might prove to be too clingy, but it's actually far better than I'd hoped! Yes, I might need to wear some 'magic knickers' but that's the case for quite a few things these days. It's warm, comfortable and actually gave the impression of being slimming. I may seem to be damning with faint praise, but as I'd been getting nowhere with trousers (I need some stretch in them, I've concluded) I was very glad to find a cosy skirt that worked for me!
My favourite style Winter-time skirt. So comfortable and cosy to wear! I wore last year’s Ink Marl version so much, I didn’t hesitate to add Pine, this year (+ matching Tina Sweater). Sizing feels identical. I love wearing both pieces together to make a ‘dress’ but as separates, find them super versatile. I’m 5’4’ with ‘Regular’ length legs and would describe the length as a ‘long midi’ on me with side splits for easy movement.
I knew I would struggle with the length of this skirt, but decided to give it a try as I could see it being very useful this winter and wanted a change from my usual trousers. I was delighted to find that I could roll up the waist and make an elegant outfit with either a silky tucked inside it and a waist belt to hide the folds, or a jumper worn outside the waist. I will try it with blouses and wraps too. It’s also very warm and cosy and I look forward to getting a lot of wear out of it this season and beyond.
I bought this skirt and the Tina jumper as I liked the idea of a co-ordinated outfit. I am usually a size Medium in Kettlewell but found the Medium skirt just a little too snug for me. I ordered a Large for comparison and found that much better so returned the Medium. However the matching Josie I ordered in a Small as it was said to be oversized and I found that still quite oversized. However I am happy with the two items together now. They make a very versatile outfit that can be dressed up or down.
I rarely leave a review on Kettlewell because I buy so much and have yet to return anything. However, I bought this skirt because I wanted to try a different shape. I was slightly concerned it might be too straight for my wider hips. My waist is size 14 but my hips are size 15 LOL. In Kettlewell I wander between L and LL depending on style. I chose size 14 on reding reviews. It fitted perfectly. I was reluctant to take it off as it felt so comfy. However I decided to try the 16 too as I felt the 14 was slightly too fitted across my thighs. The 16 arrived and is loose in the waist but beautiful fit on my thighs. My daughter has bagged the smaller size. LOL.
This is my first time leaving a Kettlewell review - that’s how much I love this skirt! It is amazing! It’s so soft and cosy and stylish. I have bought it in two colours, and the colours are gorgeous. I am hoping that it comes out in a lovely deep summer purple next! Thanks Kettlewell for a great skirt.
I love the skirt on everyone I see wearing it but I cannot pull it off. I am tall and curvy and with an hourglass figure. It is either too short or too long and the proprtions never seem right for me. The slits at the sides don't help it. All in all I look big in it and it does nothing for my shape. The quality is outstanding, soft and warm and cosy, so I am very sad that I have to return it.
Once I tried on this super soft snuggly skirt I just didn’t want to take it off! In fact I immediately ordered another. It fits true to size. The side slits are not too high. And it will carry me through the winter at any event I’m likely to go too. It is elegant enough to add a sparkly top or a cable jumper. I am a spring. Size12/14 and like sporty smart chic so this ticks all those boxes.
Such a beautiful, cosy piece of knitwear that not only pairs perfectly with either the Tina Sweater (to create a ‘dress’) or Boyfriend Cardigan (to make a suit) but so many of my existing Kettlewell pieces. Love Ink Marl - a really interesting and versatile neutral (somewhere between Navy and Sapphire) - the perfect backdrop against which to showcase my favourite Jewel Brights.
