What to buy after your colour analysis {springs}

So you've had your analysis, you're panicking slightly about all those incredibly bright colours you've been given and even though you love the colours, you're not quite sure how to interpret it all without going out looking like a children's television presenter. Sound about right?

What you need is (a) some inspiration and (b) a definitive plan. Fortunately, you'll find both of them right here.

First up, if you buy nothing else, here's the 10 essentials that will help begin the transition of your wardrobe over to your new vibrant Spring palette:

Kettlewell items shown: Florence Infinity Scarves in Coral and Pastel Rose, Silky Roll Neck inLight Aqua, Tasha Top in Coral, Silky Scoop in Mint Green, Milan Knit Cardigan in Light Silver, Mid Cascade in Bright Navy, Ruched Skirt in Pebble Grey, Rosa 7/8 Trousers in Periwinkle, Stripe Boat Neck in Periwinkle Stripe

Feeling ready to go? Here's the action plan you need to follow to make all those essentials work for you. Depending on your resources (financial and time) it might take you a week or a year, the important thing is just to do it.

  1. If you haven't already, give your wardrobe a preliminary sort. Get a feel for what is in your colours and what isn't, get rid of any major disaster areas that you were looking for an excuse to chuck out anyway. Divide what's left into correct and incorrect colours - having a physical separation will help you identify colours that can add to the correct side.
  2. As quickly as possible, buy a couple of tops or scarves in your wow colours - the ones from your palette that made you look and feel truly amazing. In case you hadn't guessed, this is where you make use of that inspiration pic up the page. (Related, but not a wardrobe point - get your make up sorted at this stage too. Just chuck everything out that's in the wrong colours. Do it now, don't overthink it, and purchase some everyday essentials in your colours).
  3. WEAR THE TOPS AND SCARVES. Don't save them for a special occasion, just get out there, in your colours.
  4. Now the work really begins. Have a second sort through your wardrobe. Make a physical list of areas where you own few or no items in your colours (eg trousers, skirts etc) and start building up your wardrobe in your new wow colours!
