Almost perfect! All the colors are beautiful, the tops have a great cut but the fabric is very clingy. I wear a US 14/16 I’m 5’8, and I could use another 2 “ in length. It’s a bit small- but the largest I can get from Kettlewell.- Judy (16/04/2024)

I am still in mourning for the withdrawal of the scoop neck Darcy, but thought I'd try this neckline. It's not a dramatic V and if I wear one of my many Kettlewell scarves I can disguise it nicely. I love the Lobelia colour and the fit of the XS in this shade is smaller ( therefore better!) than some other styles. Big disappointment because the colour (Mint Ice) is perfect. My measurements are the same as given for the Medium size but it is much too clingy. I then ordered the Large which is loose around the neckline and shoulders yet still manages to be a bit clingy in the body. I've just received 2 D'Arcy V tops in Coral and Lobelia and I can confirm that these tops throughly deserve the 5* that everyone gives them. The coral is not too bright but a more subtle easy to wear colour. I ordered the one in Lobelia to go with the Vivienne skirt I purchased in the sale, the vibrant purple is stunning. I did think the D'Arcy V was a touch expensive but having received them I realise that they co-ordinate with at least 7 items in my wardrobe making them a good buy. I did size up to an LL as I do not like the tops to be too clingy and show bra straps or skirt waist bands. The Kettlewell service has been excellent as always.- Tricia (13/03/2024)

A lovely new colour, very similar to Soft White, in my favourite and most useful top. I tried the new Square neck but found the same size came up a little bit too big in the viscose fabric. This really is perfect for me. I’m hourglass so I find the non-boxy way that the waist fits and the bracelet sleeves which draw the eye to that level are very flattering. So many tops on the high street make me look like I’m wearing a sack. Love the v-neck as it’s low enough to be pretty but not so low I can’t bend over in it. The double layer hides any bumpy bits but also stops the top getting visible damage from trouser zips. I picked Tulipwood which is a lovely muted deep pink and it suits me well as a soft summer. I’ve just pre-ordered several more in other colours as I don’t think I’ll ever find another daytime top this perfect! Please don’t ever stop making this style.- Helen (29/02/2024)

So pleased. They did melt and shape well on me after som wear. Love these tops. Although the poppy color is a bit harsh on me (lacking yellow) but looks wonderful in the sun with a tan, the beige is the one I have been using the most, golden beige is such a flattering color for my complexion, even a more golden yellow beige would be welcome. Looking forward to get more colors such as a yellowish orange coral in this top. This fit, these beautiful sleeves would also work great with a boat neck, soft square or a scoop. I am an old school CMB spring girl. So grateful when I can find similar CMB colors here. I think a golden spring seems to be close to the traditional CMB colors. I though I was a true spring but here I might be leaning towards a "KW golden spring", perhaps a bit of both. I initially was unsure whether this top would work for me, especially the double layer aspect, but the Darcey V neck has quickly become one of my favourites! Fabric is great - not too heavy but not thin either so a good year-rounder. They wash brilliantly, and very easy to dress up or down. It also finishes at a good point on the mid-lower hip (excellent when larger busted). I keep checking to see if new stock comes in and would definitely buy it in more colours - really hope it's not going to be discontinued!- Hils (26/01/2024)

This was my first purchase from Kettewell and I am very pleased with it. I wear my t-shirts outside of my trousers and always find that holes develop in the t-shirt over the trousers button area. I love the shape and fit of the Darcy V tops! I have several colors and especially love to wear them with skirts. The V isn't too low, and they look nice with some stacked bracelets. I feel like Lobelia is one of those colors that can look quite different, depending on the fabric. It seems to vary more than other colors do. Sometimes it looks more blue and sometimes more purple. The lobelia version of this Dacy V is the most gorgeous shade that I have seen! A beautiful clear purple.- KH (29/10/2023)

I lOVE the Darcey tops, whether the V neck or the scoop. The double layer front makes the top a big cut above a "regular" tee, giving it a substantial feel and it launders perfectly. (always hang to dry). I wear a US size 12 on top and since this is semi fitted, the LL fits perfectly without looking too loose or snug. I have two other Darcy V's and I am very pleased with them. I was hoping the colour would be similar to the Deep Claret Nina Rib Vest. The colour is actually a few shades deeper and not quite as flattering on me as the Nina. However I am still pleased as it looks great paired with my Chinese Blue short cascade wrap and worn with the Deep Claret Paris trousers. I would not wear it by itself on my top half because of the colour depth which is aging on me. I do understand it is difficult to match colour shades on different fabrics, but if it was the same shade as the Nina it would be perfect!- Caroline (05/10/2023)

Lovely color and I really liked the way it looked in the front. The double layer is flattering and makes the neckline refined. But the back is clingy and shows every lump and bump. I went up a size and don't think going up another would solve anything as it would be too large in the shoulders and the front. The Darcey V is my favourite Kettlewell top. It's nicely structured and has an inner front layer, which makes it flattering. It can be dressed up very easily, and is an ideal top for wearing under jackets. If you have a large bust this is a good top to make it less noticeable. I bought 3 Darcy tops - in Mint Ice, Cornflower and Emerald Green in small and I am absolutely delighted with them. They fit really well, I can dress them up with a scarf or a necklace and they are perfect for cool summer days, and warm spring and autumn days. Very flattering over bust in a cute modest way. Tried the Medium first and then the Large. M was better for my hourglass shape. The L was too baggy on me. The shoulders on this model looked a bit pointy and squarish on mine but was told it will shape after body with use, fortunately. The sleeve seam line however looks a bit off, it's curved shape is not flattering on me, it did not go away when I sized up. It seems to be be made that way, nothing a cardigan or jacket won't fix. The quality, fit and look of these tops is excellent - the double front really flattering and sits beautifully over trousers etc. I really hope you continue this old classic and keep doing a range of bright colours in XS! you always seem to either run out of this size, make other tops that are "generous and could be sized down" (which really means not a true size and if you are XS you cannot buy!) or even worse you decide not to stock XS at all (this year's camisole tops).- Katrina (04/07/2023)

The double front gives a smooth look and the 3/4 length sleeves are ideal for those of us with shorter length arms. Personally, I am not 100% sure about 'Electric Lime' as a colour for 'Winters'; I think it is slightly too yellow based. Darcey is a year-round favourite - the fabric is stretchy but retains its shape without bagging and the double-thickness front makes even the palest of colours wearable without underwear show-through. Three-quarter length sleeves are perfect for showing off wrist jewellery and avoid having to pull up or turn back long sleeves. I normally prefer round or square necks but the Darcey V-neck can be softened by neck jewellery or a scarf. I am a Summer and usually opt for the pastel end of the spectrum but decided to go bold, purchasing both Emerald Turquoise and Raspberry. Both pair well with other Kettlewell colours in a similar hue (eg Emerald Turquoise with True Teal and Raspberry with Very Berry) but Raspberry, especially, has become my new "neutral", adding a splash of colour to just about everything from white to black. After so many rave reviews, I decided to try this top and so glad I did. Lovely colour, the V neck is not too low but you can add a camisole if needed for warmth on cooler days. This is one of my favourite tops in one of my favourite colours. The Darcy fits really well, looks good on any occasion and washes like a dream. Love the sleeve length, as I have short arms. This is my first Darcy and won't be the last. It is true to fit. The double front gives a wee bit more warmth and gives more structure than the silkies so it does not cling. The Darcey is my favourite Kettlewell top by far and I am amassing a good collection of them. I love the design with the neat neckline and double front, and the V is perfect - neither too high nor too low. Three-quarter sleeves are always a winner for me as I have short arms, and the length of the top is just right for my 5ft 1in height. I love the Darceys anyway with their 3/4 sleeves and double thickness front. I was interested to see what this colour, Airforce Blue was like for Summers. I am very pleased with it. First purchase and I love the shade of lavender that this top came in. Good quality and the elastane ensures it's a good fit and stays looking good. In general I would love to see more V neck styles, with stretch, I find 100% cotton creases and looks scruffy after being worn for an hour or so . I was going to get a soft white colour but was persuaded to try the pale peach by another member of the Colour Club and I am so pleased. The material is brilliant and washes great no shrinkage. I like it also because it’s 3/4” sleeves. I am petite and wish there were a few more tops with 3/4” sleeves. But the style, with the double layer in the front felt a bit too compressive for my comfort, and I know that if I'm even the slightest bit uncomfortable, I won't wear it. It is a great idea though because it does provide a very smooth appearance and looks quite neat, I'm just super picky in weird ways. The second reason was that I seem to only be flattered by deeper, more saturated colors. The paler colors seem to wash me out. :( However I hope hope hope that there will be more soft summer pinks (not hot pink) on the horizon that may be just that: darker and more saturated! There is a slight difference in shade, which does make this less successful as a dress than a similar trick with a juniper cowl neck and ruched skirt and camel top and ruched skirt. I bought this gorgeous shaped long sleeve t-shirt top a few years ago, and I am happy to report that it still looks as good as new several years later. I bought it in red (I’m afraid I can’t remember the exact colour, but it was suitable for all seasons). I love the style, the v neck is at a flattering level (not too low: I work in a school do this is important). I cannot fault the quality - it has washed exceedingly well. My first Darcey V. I had not realised this was exactly the same as a sleeveless V but with 3/4 sleeves on it. Love it! The fabric is wonderful and I like the double layer at the front for a really smooth, no visible underwear look. The modest V is great for wearing short necklaces and also lovely with a scarf. I got a mint ice colour and it's wonderful for this Summer, I love it with pinks, lilacs, and jade greens. Size S perfect, I take an XS in the sleeveless V but have relatively broad shoulders although small bust so S was perfect. I like the shorter length of this style which means it sits perfectly on trouser & skirt waistbands (I'm 5ft 6"). These tops are lovely. The look like a long sleeve T-shirt in the picture but the fabric is so much nicer. They are not clingy and so comfortable to wear. There is a double layer over the bust area which I really love. Just right for smart casual work office, or dressed up with some chunky jewellery and something spangly . I’m a size 14 and wear a large as I have a large bust but if I didn’t I could probably get away with a medium. I think they should be slightly cheaper though. I think £39 is a bit much and would buy one in every colour if they were cheaper. AGAIN Kettlewell with the SUPER CREASED packaging. What is it with this company? I recently placed my first order with Kettlewell after having my colors analyzed several months ago and hearing great things about the company, color selection, and quality. I am certainly impressed with the color selection. I was also impressed with the shipping speed, given that the items ship from the UK and I'm in the US. The fabric is of this top is soft, stretchy, and extremely comfortable. The color is gorgeous (I got it in Chinese blue). Overall, this top seems to be great quality. The disappointing part was that the hem in the bottom front started to unravel right away when I opened the package and tried it on. The customer service was outstanding and I received a replacement. Unfortunately, the same thing started happening with the replacement. Again, the customer service was excellent; I really cannot say enough good things about it. Given that the other 2 tops in my order seem fine, I think that perhaps the color/size was just a "bad batch." This experience will not necessarily keep me from ordering again from Kettlewell in the future, though I will say that this fault, for the price, seems a bit iffy.- Abby (15/04/2021)

This is my second Darcey V and I'm sure it won't be my last! A beautiful colour, the material is lovely and soft and the style is flattering. The V neck is perfectly placed and the three quarter length sleeves are just right, as the weather gets warmer and we need to keep using hand sanitiser when we venture out. Just purchased the Darcy in Acid Yellow and love the colour. I am a 12/14 and bought the large which is a good fit. However, I do wish it were an inch longer, as I'm 5ft 7" and prefer my tops to be at least 24/25" inches long. I also find that with regard to the double front, which is a great idea, the under layer is a little shorter than the top layer and this tends to pull the outer layer upward so I'm constantly pulling it down again. In summary, this is a very good quality top and washes up really well but I wouldn't purchase another, due to the length. Have a Boden tee double-front and I don't have this problem with it but it is an inch longer, however they don't offer such lovely colours as Kettlewell.- Jennie (09/04/2021)

This is the first Darcy I have bought but very pleased with it. I do.like the double front and the vneck is not too low. Iced Aqua is lovely for spring time. I usually buy the semi scoop ( of which i have seversl) but this is just as good. If you were to do the semi in a double front, that would be perfect. I had tried the Square Neck in Medium, as it is similar, and it was just too sloppy on me, so I sized down to Small in this top. Perfect fit! I will be looking for this and Square Neck in Small from now on. Also, I've discovered that like the Dutch Blue, this Oxford Blue is absolutely one of my best blues (facial features pop and the hair!). Over the past year, I have collected quite a few Darceys (v-neck and scoop) in both neutral and bright colours and am very pleased to add True Red to wear over Christmas. As I reach for a Darcey most days, I felt I should post a well overdue review to sing the praises of this Kettlewell Classic. To my mind the design is just perfect - not too long (I’m 5, 4’’), 3/4 length sleeves and a not too deep neckline that should suit anyone with a somewhat generous sized bust. The sizing is consistent and the LL is semi fitted on me (size 16). The quality is superb and if washed on a short spin cycle and air-dried, shouldn’t need ironing. I have found them incredibly versatile and really hope Kettlewell continue to repeat this design, albeit in new fabulous colours, next season.- Alison (05/12/2020)

The Darcy V is a lovely soft top in great colours. I bought fushia and love it. The only complaint I have is that it’s a little bit short in the body and at 5’7 it could be three inches longer. I recently asked on the KW FB page for comments on the length of some of your tops. It seems that those of us who are taller, struggle with the length. Bought for a special occasion, it feel sumptuous and soft, the double front feels 'secure', it does not cling to lumps and bumps over/under the back bra-line and the length sits nicely under a short fitted jacket. I am normally size 14/16 and tried all sorts of your tops/sizes from M-LL and L is perfect. Plus I think the V looks better with bigger boobs than the Darcy scoop neck. This was my first Darcey V. I’m between an S/M in Kettlewell, more often an S, but I opted to keep the M in the Darcey which I was surprised about given that I’m definitely an S in the Cosy Cotton V which is a very similar style! The rust colour is gorgeous and looks great on me as an autumn, and the V neck suits my busty hourglass shape. It’s easy to create a range of looks by adding infinity scarves or different camisoles. Really wished to love this top. The Rust color is so rich and striking. I do love the fabric and the double front but I would call this style "fitted" rather than "semi fitted" as it was tight which doesn't suit me. I am a US size 8 (UK 12). It fit perfectly through the shoulders. I don't think sizing up would be a good look so I will exchange it for another style. This top was better than I expected. Even though the fit is listed as "semi-fitted", it was pretty fitted on me, which is my preferred fit; I do not like tops which are baggy at the waist. The fabric has a substantial feel and is not see-through. The v-neck is not too low which is a relief since I am 5'0" and sometimes find "regular" tops to be too low-cut. These shirts are a fantastic fit for me - and the double layer on the front makes it look smart for work or it can be casual. I like the three quarter sleeves for when the jacket comes off, or if the top is worn without. BUT - all the spring colours in Medium have sold out already - I was keen to get something other than navy and white and between the time I was thinking about the colours and going back to the website (a matter of days) everything had gone. Very much hoping that these will come back with more spring colours. I would like to see more Spring greens in the Kettlewell range as an alternative to the blues/teals and pinks on offer. Soft white is a beautiful cream colour, the pictures on the website don’t do it justice so I definitely recommend trying it. Sadly I seem to fall in between sizes in the Darcy V with a small being too tight but the Medium too big. I am a petite size 12. That was the only reason I returned it. I love the Darcey products with the double layer front because they sit so well and are such good quality. I bought the V neck in a size M - it is a little on the snug side although previous styles I have bought in an M have been fine. I am a size 12/14 so I probably should have bought the L. But I loved the colour (campanula) so much I just kept it! I’d love Kettlewell to do petite sizes as I’m only 5’1 but on this occasion the sizing was fine and the neck isn’t too low. I find the Darcey square neck (which is my absolute favourite style with long sleeves) to be a little too low at the front. I am now looking at other colours to buy (this time in L) as these tops are so useful for work.- Helen (31/03/2019)

I love the shape of this but hate the double front. It is hard to iron and I find it too bulky. It keeps its shape well, comes in a range of colours but as I found out, a reduced range in XS. First purchase of the silky scoop neck in mallard colour (Just had my colours done and apparently I'm a pastel spring! Gorgeous colour and lovely quality top hence I feel cost justified providing it washes and wears well. Only thing is the sleeves are very long....so long I had to turn them under by about 4inches. I don't care for 3/4 sleeves preferring to keep my arms covered but these are just too long. Would order another but no spring colours available in small.- KB (14/07/2018)
I haven't shopped with Kettlewell before, despite having my colours done about 20 years ago, products always seemed a bit expensive for what they were. However, I am delighted with the Darcey V, especially the double layer at the front which gives a smooth look and preserves the depth of the colour, which is the main reason for buying. Bought this in Hyacinth. colour is darker than the photo but I prefer this Love the neckline and style I tend to wear this type of top with trousers so like the length but the short sleeves tops I wear wiht skirts so would prefer the short tees to be shorter in length. I am a clear Spring, and I love the bright peach colour of this top, the length for my long body and the double fronted feature. However, although the bust is great, the size small is just too wide. Bought two colours from my Spring palette and they are gorgeous. Great fit (medium) and the colours received many favourable comments on first outings! Love these 'V' neck tops in the three quarter sleeve and the sleeveless - the latter is great for layering on cooler days. Would love a sleeveless round neck too, for layering under round neck cardigans in the winter - any chance Kettlewell?
