I really wanted to love these wraps. A decade ago wraps were everywhere, I hope they make a comeback! The colors are just beautiful, but I found the material sub-par. I know many people love the viscose material, and while it felt nice and slinky, it had a chemical smell that was quite strong. Depending on what the basis for viscose is, it can by quite synthetic, and the smell indicated this material wasn’t from a clean source: not something I want to put on my skin or wash and put into the environment. I love Kettlewell’s products that come in natural fibers, the wool and cashmere pieces compliment my closet, so I hope you will consider remaking this Short Tie Wrap in natural fibers.- Lila (01/04/2024)

This is a beautiful wrap in super soft nice fabric and wonderful colour. My only criticism is the size. I ordered a large, but cannot tie wrap. It's nice left loose, but if you want to tie it, I'd go up a size. I'm size 14 normally, and have a full breast, perhaps if you were smaller you might not have this problem.- Shirley (01/04/2024)

Lovely material and colour. My 3rd one as they are so versatile and easy to wear. Fit true. The sleeves can be worn down or slightly pulled up. Looks good open or tied, but I mostly wear open do that it cascades at sides. I wear it often, so I get the value back. They wash really well and I’ve not ironed one yet, because the fabric is heavy enough for the wrinkles to drop out whilst it’s drying.- TeeCee (30/03/2024)

I'd said I wasn't going to buy anymore STWs but how could I possibly ignore my favourite neutral, Magical Indigo? In warm weather (or anywhere with air conditioning), I wear one of these, most days, and find them incredibly useful. They travel well too! I'm typically a size L in most Kettlewell Tops, (UK 14) so bought my usual size. It fits well across my broad back and shoulders and tied, creates a flattering long V as well as miraculously suggesting a waist I don't have! For reference, I'm a 5'4'', petite length-bodied, inverted triangle with a 36E bust. However, the genius of this deceptively simple design is that whether you are long or short-bodied, you can tie it (or not) to enhance/create the illusion of a waist and adjust it to lengthen/shorten your proportions. I love this short tie wrap. I bought the silver and blue ones and love them both. They fit really nicely with the seams in the back and tie well in the front. I am very pleased with this Short Tie Wrap, it is very useful when you need something to finish off an outfit or when there is a bit of a chill in the air. I am so pleased with the short tie wrap I ordered from Kettlewell. The colour is lovely (Dark Emerald), and the size (14) is just right. I sometimes have to order a 16 - 18 in wraps, but the size 14 fits to perfection, is quite flattering, and goes so nicely with a number of other clothes in my wardrobe. It is lightweight but provides warmth on cooler days. Apart from the very warm weather, I can see myself wearing this garment the year round.- Mary (29/08/2023)

I have a short cascade wrap in kingfisher and wanted another one but the colours available in my size didn’t appeal to me so thought I would try the short tie wrap, expecting it to be similar. Unfortunately this wasn’t case, it seemed smaller, viscose material was thinner and the style didn’t work on me. I don’t know whether it is the colour that affects the weight of the material and it wouldn’t matter which style I chose or whether it is the style of the tie wrap itself but unfortunately I have had to return. The colour (Nightshade) was also much lighter than it looked online - a very strong blue toned purple, although I would have kept it anyway if it suited me better. These short tie wraps are simply the best for a quick layer to cover the arms and are easily carried in a handbag. They are also fabulous for adding and defining a waist when you're wearing a dress or skirt as well as with shorts, trousers, jeans or crops. Indispensable really and such lovely quality in totally amazing colours. I am gradually collecting all of them in my palette as it's the item I am guaranteed to wear the most! I would Love a blue jewel or azure and a true Fuchsia one please Kettlewell colours?! This acid yellow is such a cheerful happy colour that I'm sure I;ll wear it loads. Colour psychology states: yellow is emotionally stimulating making us feel more confident, positive and optimistic and acid yellow is one of the best for a Winter THANK YOU for providing this for us. On size : I size down for a neat fit as I am petite and XS had sold out so I have had to settle for S which is really very much bigger than expected so luckily I can take it in and take it back to the XS size I need. I was looking for a more informal cover up than a jacket to wear over a Hobbs dress that I bought for a reunion. The short tie wrap perfectly fitted the bill. It was warm enough for a grey May day, emphasised the colour in the pattern of the dress and really set off the outfit. I've bought a few of these wraps in the last 2 years, but this year's version is skimpy on fabric. The Fuschia Rose in Medium is a much closer fit than my Bright Navy and Pansy ones from last year in the same size. Theres a noticeable difference in the length too, the Fuschia Rose is two inches shorter front and back, and the Regatta Blue was similarly short.- CLM (03/06/2023)

Kettlewell clothing is surely a comfortable cut above. I have many items. However, I quickly scroll through reviews reading only those which hold numbers as without knowing height, weight and body measurements the reviews are not helpful as to fit. Because this fact is absent from the vast majority of reviews, it would be far better to include accurate garment measurements. My measurements: 5’4”, 140lb., 38DD, 33, 38. I have several short tie wraps; they are very versatile, useful items which layer easily over tops and dresses, and look good with trousers as well as with skirts. I tend to wear mine loose which means the ends can show under some of my jacket hems, but its easy enough to tie the ends together and they never crease. I ordered my Short Tie Wrap in Cassis to match my ruched skirt , I have been toying with ordering the wrap for some months and so pleased I did , I love them they are perfect for me with being petite at 5’ , the back just sits beautifully on my waist and as yet I haven’t tried wearing it tied , as I love the elongating effect of the 2 ties just left out at the front . I also wore it with my jeans but with the front tucked in I loved this effect as it almost looks like a wrap top . In summer with my more casual outfits I will wear it tied. so pleased that the sleeves just sit nicely on my wrists as some tops the arms are too long . I love this wrap. Bought it for wearing to operas as part of my travel wardrobe. It is a beautiful colour and works well with a cami and silk scarves, which are light and can easily change the look. I am a short waisted medium, 5 foot 5 height, slim pear shape, classic ingenue and wear the front open, which lengthens my shape nicely. Absolutely love these wraps, a perfect intro to a colour newbie for jazzing up my outfits. They really finish off a simple jeans/leggings and vest top outfit, which has made getting dressed for work so much easier as I feel more put-together with very minimal effort! For someone new to colour, they are a simple and easy way to style. Bought 2 colours (cassis and blue smoke), because they are fantastic quality and I just couldn't choose between them! This is my third short tie wrap. I like this style very much. I have it always untied because it suits me better. I am 5’ 4’ and the length for me is perfect. It gives a slimming effect. I purchased the indigo this time because I was influenced by many winters in the colour club who like it a lot. This is my first item in indigo and I am not quite sure if it suits me better than black or navy. I expected something more purple. Short tie wraps can be worn tied at the front, or for those who prefer a tidier look, tuck in the bottom. This was a no-brainer! I love Dark Amethyst and consider the STW my alternative to a cardigan. It’s such a brilliantly designed and versatile garment - a true ‘wardrobe hero’! I wear mine over everything from a sundress or Classic Camisole in the Summer, to a Pima Tee or a SRN in Spring/Autumn. One of the best things about them is that they are fitted at the back, making them so much smarter than an ordinary cardigan, and I do like the long sleeve. I ordered the raspberry to go with a dress but the colour is far more vibrant than I realised from the picture online. I nearly returned it, as I prefer to blend into the background, but as it is a lovely colour I decided to be bold! I’m so pleased Kettlebell Colours exists as it’s frustrating when you like the style of an item but know that the latest fashion colour doesn’t suit you. A new style for me - I usually buy the short cascade wrap but it seems to be discontinued. I had to preorder this colour and waited a long time but it is a success. The unusual shade of blue is just right for a Summer , soft and muted and picks up colours in many of my patterned summer dresses. The style left open gives a similar look to the cascade wrap and is quite versatile as can be tied or left open. Light stretchy fabric washes well and sizing is accurate. I love this style over longer KW tops, tied or untied. I think I have every style of wrap, but this one feels both casual and flexible. Even in the heat of summer, it’s light enough that its long sleeves are still welcome, especially against aggressive AC. This short tie wrap is gorgeous. The colouring for a silver grey haired winter is perfect. It’s an item that either dresses up or down being able to wear it with a smart dress, jeans, shorts, skirts or chinos. As it’s a light weight item (but not too lightweight) it’s extremely useful for a dash of extra warmth on chillier summer days or evenings and adds an extra layer for the winter whilst being stylish and not bulky. I have them in a variety of colours as they are so useful to wear with either a short sleeved summer top or long sleeved T shirt. I find these brilliantly designed wraps so useful - they’re the perfect cover-up in Summer and an invaluable accessory to have to hand wherever there’s air conditioning! I wear mine (tied) with pretty much everything and love how easy they are to wash as well as wear. (30 degrees, 600 spin, air dry on a hanger). I’m particularly pleased with my latest purchase. The Raspberry is so vibrant, a really beautiful, bold pink. The short tie wrap is a fabulously useful item. It looks good tied or untied; it is a useful cover-up and adds interest to an outfit. My measurements put me in a medium, but I ordered this in a large as I have broad shoulders and I wanted it to fit comfortably over long sleeved tops. I really like the fit. It is generous enought to fit easily over other tops and short enough at the back to look neat and fitted unlike many other cover-ups. I only wish the fabric was slightly less fragile. I find these wraps really useful in the warmer months. I have recently discovered that if I size up from my usual medium to large in these they're not so tight on the arms allowing room for sleeves and they drop longer so I can tie lower to my waist which works better with my shape. I have a few now. It would be quite exciting to have them in a stripe or a pattern but I'm guessing it would be quite a task and possibly quite expensive,but I can wish!- K (09/06/2022)

This is my third short tie wrap in a deep autumn color color swatch. I wear them spring through fall. They are a perfect weight for those 3 seasons and really anchor a column of color as well as adding contrast to a variety of colors. I only tie them occasionally. I love them open. I have one medium and two larges. The medium is probably the best, but if the color is not available, I don’t hesitate to buy this style in large. I love the short tie wrap. I am 5’1” and have an apple shape. I wear size LL. I shorten the too long sleeves and the pointed front to create good proportions for my petite height. I find this wrap adds height and a complimentary third piece that flatters my apple shape. I never tie it because it would call attention to the widest part of my body. The fabric is lightweight , making it easy to add to an outfit. This piece is my favorite in the Kettlewell line up and I own 8 in various colors!!! Hurrah for the STW - I have finally found ‘my cardigan’! I absolutely love these versatile, easy to wash and wear wardrobe heroes that have breathed new life into much loved Kettlewell (and older, pre-KW) favourites. This one, in Navy, is proving to be just as useful. I purchased my usual size and have enough room in the sleeves to comfortably layer it over something like a silky or Stripey Pima Tee. I wanted to honour my warm soft colouring and golden spice fits the bill, most similar colours on the high street are like a harsh mustard colour not muted enough for a soft. Great little lightweight jersey knit cover up to wear instead of a jacket, either open or loosely tied, it pulls my outfit together. I sized up which gives a looser fit for my adventurer style. I have so many uses for the Short Tie Wrap. I especially like them with dresses! I also wear them with shorts, skirts and trousers. The turquoise is such a gorgeous color! I only wear them tied, as I don't look good with the sides hanging down. For this reason, and for the arm length differences, I really hope that KW will consider offering the short cascade wrap in size XS again. I recently purchased the Short Tie Wrap in Flamingo Pink and it is such a stunning addition to my ever-growing Kettlewell wardrobe that I had to review it! I already have the wrap in Violet but Flamingo Pink really jumped out at me in the recent Wear It Two Ways blog, where it is paired with Apple. My version is to wear it with my Hawaii or Iced Aqua Darcey V tops. I am a Light Spring. I would never have put those colours together but the combination is fabulous. Flamingo Pink is such a strong colour yet it is light and bright and I feel confident and happy whenever I put it on. I have several short tie wraps in different colours (Spring season) and just love the soft smooth fabric and easy style because they go with all of my outfits and keep me warm without adding loads of bulk, and with the flexibility to wear them open or tied. I'm a UK size 12/14 and have some in L and others in M. I find that the large have more 'wiggle room', especially on the sleeves, whereas the medium have a sleeker, more fitted look. My most recent purchases were the Fresh Green and Pink Flamingo, and the vibrancy of these two colours just makes my heart sing! Perfect colour and fit. Lovely drapery material. Very flattering. I'm a winter and going grey so this bold red exudes the warmth and energy that I feel. Warmer arms too and a good length at the back because it doesn't stop at the midriff even when tied. It drapes nicely over any waistband. It would be great in fine Merino wool for winter. I absolutely love the Short Tie Wrap. I have already purchased 3 of them! I love the long angles in the front if you leave it untied. You also have the option of tying it at your waist to accentuate that area. I use them as cardigans, and don't ever tie them due to my body shape. I love using them as a layering piece with jeans, skirts and dresses. They are lightweight and stylish. You won't be disappointed. My only suggestion would be to lengthen the back of the tie wrap. It took me a while to decide on my first one, I tried many colours, but settled on chocolate which is a great colour for me. I also have one in mole, a surprisingly useful colour. So useful, lovely colour. The sleeves are too long on me but a problem I always have. I am a curvy 14 with narrow shoulders and I think when I purchase my next tie wrap will go down to a M. I was a fan of the short cascade wraps, but the STW is even better. It can hang loose or if tied, emphasise the waist, and the long sleeves make it appropriate for more varied weather than the 3/4 sleeves. It's true to size; I take an M in KW and it fits perfectly. I'm definitely coming back for more colours! Ganache is a great mid-brown neutral - much more useful than chocolate, which is a bit too dark for summer. I had to order 2 sizes to get the right fit, I am on the cusp of the sizing so some styles fit better than others, the fabric was thinner than I expected but the style suits well, I am petite so many of the Kettlewell styles don't suit the shorter frame, but this worked well, will purchase another in due course in the season colour. I had the devil of a job folding the wrong sized item to go back to be returned so I am hoping that it can be resold as it was not worn. I have used Kettlewell on and off for years. I think from when they first started the company. The quality of products are wonderful. I used to think a little pricey but all my buys have lasted so well, washed so well and kept their colour so well. I have moved house twice since I first used you. I have now recently returned as I have put on a little weight, wanted to revisit my colour spectrum and needed to revamp my wardrobe. I still have my original tshirts and two lace blouses. My blouses I still wear but open. I now have all my favourite colours in the styles I like. Plus a few knew items. I bought the deep aqua wrap as a treat and liked it so much I bought another. I also bought the print culottes to take me out of my comfort zone and again the quality and fit were so good I bought the beetroot and flint full set. They are lovely for me, set in sleeves which gives a good fit on the shoulders, and they give a V neck - which suits me better - also long sleeves. I prefer to wear them loose as they give me a smooth line over my front where I carry a bit extra - if you know what I mean. They go with skirts, trousers and Weekend dress which I bought in a sale a couple of years ago. Look great over the Pippa top and Robel 7/8th trousers. The short tie wrap is a really useful addition to the wardrobe. Easy to wear over a short sleeve top or dress when a little cover up or warmth is needed when a jacket would be too much. I have worn over a long sleeved top/slim sweater too for just a little extra warmth without bulk! I've got two of the short tie wraps, and love them. The material is light enough to feel really summery and provide just enough warmth to wear indoors in the early mornings in hot weather. I agree with the other tall reviewers, this is great for us. I'm 6'1" and a size 12-14. The size M felt too stretched on the shoulders and upper arms, so I swapped for L and it's great - fits slightly loosely in those areas but I can tie it nicely tight and show off my best bit, my waist. I'm a Spring and have the Lima and the Deep Aqua. My only complaint is that I'd have loved to get the Pink Geranium but I see no signs of a restock. I am tall and have found the long wrap and this short wrap are the best for me. It is great to go over long tops , dresses and skirts. I have it in navy and silver which will go over most of my summer blues and pinks. I did order violet which is a beautiful colour but I was struggling with colours to go with it as I don't really do high contrast. I am size 12/14 and ordered size L. Melissa was right - Lime is indeed a neutral! :). I had the hardest time choosing a. color as I wanted a neutral that could be worn over a variety of tops. Macadamia was sold out and I was not feeling the soft white, but then I remembered what Melissa said in a live session, that she considers Lime a neutral color for herself as a Spring. So I gave it a try and sure enough it does behave like a neutral as it compliments a wide variety of colors and color combinations! I love wearing it over a cami with the Weekend Skirts. It really pulls together a simple jeans and teeshirt look effortlessly. Honestly, I cannot think of one color in the Spring Color Palette which will not work with Lime. Additionally, as an hourglass, the cut really accentuates the waist in the most flattering way. Loved it so much I also picked up the Violet color which is equally gorgeous. Another great KW find. I bought this wrap in marine navy as a last ditch attempt to pull together a wedding outfit with a dress that I already had. I was amazed to find that it worked perfectly in spite of there being no navy in the dress (I added navy shoes and a contrasting bag) In fact I managed to assemble 2 outfits (of completely different colours) as the marine navy seems to be such a good ‘blendable’ colour. I did have the sleeves shortened by 2 inches as I like a ‘bracelet’ length sleeve. I think this wrap may be a good investment. Initially I thought these wraps would be too short for me, I’m 5ft 9., but I saw Melissa wearing it and thought I would give them a try. Glad I did, they are a good fitted shape but casual enough for daytime wear and light enough to pack for a cooler evening when you might want an extra layer. Sleeves are plenty long enough and you can adjust the fit to how you like it. My only comment was the beetroot wrap ties seemed shorter than the others. I ordered a second one to see if it was just the one I received but it was the same, slightly too short for my liking, so I sent those back. I have 3 of these: Lime, Chocolate, and Soft White to coordinate with all my sleeveless tops, T shirts and summer dresses. One thing I noticed is that the soft white came up a lot smaller than the other 2 colours, so I had to return for the next size up which works well. I'm usually Small in Ketllewell. I wanted the long sleeves to protect my arms from the sun, rather than 3/4 length which the short cascades have. Love this! I'm a winter and the colour is great for me. And the style is fab too. I've already got a cascade in this colour and thought I'd try this style after an analysis suggested that I'm a column shape and this might suit. It does! I am a 66 year old Shawl Wrap aficionado, but after reading all the glowing reviews about the Short Tie Wraps, I thought it was high time to give it a try. I feared that it might be too young a style for me, but I confess I was pleasantly surprised! The fabric has a bit more heft than I thought it would, which is a plus for me. Sleeveless tops and Silky Roll Necks sit smoothly under the Short Tie Wrap, but I did struggle a bit with the 3/4 sleeve Semi Scoop underneath (had to work a bit to get the sleeves to lie flat so they didn’t show under the wrap fabric.) I am 5’3”, and this Short Wrap sat well over a tank top (vest) with a skirt, and with my new Marie Crops. I prefer to wear it open to show off my gorgeous Kettlewell belts, but it looked fine tied too. This is my first item in Beetroot, and I absolutely love this color! It coordinates beautifully with my other winter colors, and I especially liked it with my aforementioned Marie Crops in Periwinkle (quite a pleasant surprise for me.) Kudos again, Kettlewell, for yet another high-quality item! P.S.- hoping for a restocking of the a short Tie Wrap in True Red, or even better for us winters, maybe Tango Red or Carmine Red?- Karen W. The Short Tie Wrap is one of the best wraps, in my opinion. What do I love about it? Well.....the way it can be worn in several ways...loose/tied at hip level/tied higher under the bust. It goes with many styles of dresses, skirts and trousers. My favourite is with the ruched skirt. I prefer to tie it a hip level as it flatters my body shape. I also love the long slim sleeves, which are flattering, and great over sleeveless tops and long sleeve silky tops, so you can create a unified look (you might even call it a twin set, though that’s such a retro description) if both pieces exist in the same colour. I love the shape and fit of the short tie wrap. I'm a UK 12/14 and bought the Medium in True Red. It fits beautifully at the shoulders, a good full length on the sleeves and slightly shaped at the waist. I'd personally prefer it to be 2 inches longer at the back, but it hasn't deterred me from ordering another colour. It looks good worn open, whether over a silky scoop long sleeve top or a shorter sleeved or sleeveless top. I have a short tie wrap in at least 3 colours now! Along with the macadamia, I also have geranium pink and chocolate. They're all really handy and get used frequently. I love that it's got all the versatility of a cardigan, with extra bonuses. If I'm wearing a close fitting or very drapey layer underneath, I often tie it (as you can see in a lot of the photos), but more often than not I like to leave it hanging open. I have a large bust, and a lot of cardigan styles can't cover my bust, or, if they do, there is a lot of excess fabric. These hang really neatly. I’m 83, 5’1”, 149 lbs. and buy the LL in this short tie wrap. This is the one item I can buy and not to have to worry about proportions. The sleeves are about 4”” too long, I am pushing the sleeves up, but think it might be well to consider making with 3/4 sleeves. It’s not actually worn for warmth, but as a wardrobe addition. This item is the item I really like in the clothing line. Everything else is too long in the body and sleeves. I look for the Spring colors. I like the informality of this wrap - tied it creates a sort of 50s vibe and will look nice over a camisole, with cropped trousers and ballerina shoes. Untied they are similar to the short cascade but without the shaping at the front and the fullness and so create a simpler, straighter shape. Love the Lime colour and will get a lot of wear out of it. It feels very comfortable, and the fit is excellent. I also like the long sleeve, not at all keen on 3/4 length sleeves. I love the style of these wraps and have several - they're very flattering and are perfect as an extra layer without adding too much bulk. Downside is I keep getting loose threads around the hemlines (this has happened on more than one). This is my 2nd tie wrap cardi - I have one in my best neutral ( bright navy) and this new bright one in deep aqua. They are a lovely soft material and not bulky. I prefer to wear in loose with the ends dropping down. I might try the recent idea of tucking in like a wrap from Colour Club. I love this tie wraps. I’m 5ft 11 and long waisted and yet these work fabulously for me. I bought true red, aqua and violet and am gutted I missed out on bright navy which is showing out of stock. Because I have a small frame as a size 8, lots of looser knitwear can swamp me and make me feel shapeless so these work a treat. I just received my newest Short Tie Wraps, in both Cerise Pink and Light Emerald. I already own several in darker colors but these brighter colors will especially great for transitioning to warmer weather. I have an hourglass figure and prefer to tie them slightly higher to emphasize my waistline. These wraps look great with everything from turtlenecks to scoop and cowl necks. I really loved this and the one I bought in another colour. They look so much more tailored than the open weave knitted short tie cardigans of which I have a drawerful. I really have trouble however finding out exactly what the colour is like for so many of your lovely offerings. I wanted to match a camisole with the other one but despite the colour name being the same they did not match exactly. I guess it's because the material of each was different so took dye differently. This is the second wrap I have received and I love it even more than the first! The cut seems to be a bit larger on this one, which is appreciated. The color macadamia is a very elegant color; a soft white with a very light gold tinge. I LUV the short tie wraps. They work on me (Dramatic Classic) whereas the softer drapey cascades just look untidy. I usually 'tuck' or put a scarf ring on the ends, or even wear loose. I wear it tied low on waist band as I have a long body/low waist it emphasis. I now have 4 - Lobelia is my go to Purple/Blue in KW #Jewel/Sprinter Winter. Other than looking at the picture and the name of the "Short Tie Wrap," I did not pay further attention to this article of clothing - until recently. At 5'10", "short" is a word that sends me the other direction. Then for some reason I watched the video, which done by Melissa who is also tall. And the Medium, which is the size I usually take in KW, was not ridiculously short on her. So I decided to try it. I tried both the Large and Medium, and settled for Medium because it has a much neater fit. But I love the length of the Large. I really like Kettlewell short wraps. For me, they work better than the longer length - though ideally they would be a little longer at the back. I was really pleased to see that this latest version has full length sleeves - a big improvement in my opinion. I don't think the wrap has ever been done in an olive or dark green which, as an Autumn, I'd be keen to buy. A really nice tie cascade wrap, but sadly, I returned it because the Lobelia color was so close to the Ganzi purple short cascade that I already have. I was hoping that it would have more blue in it, like the top and camisole that I have in Lobelia. The style is somewhat different from the short cascade because it has long sleeves and the tie, but not enough to justify having two in nearly the same shade.
