I love this skirt so much that I bought a second in stone. I'm not one to wear maxi-skirts as they can overwhelm me, but the cut of this skirt is so flattering and the fabric drapes nicely. SIZE: Medium COLOUR: Cobalt Blue
As I've mentioned before, I dithered for ages before sending for this skirt first in Bright Navy. I chose a size Small for that order and added the faux wrap in Bright Navy to create a column. I liked the end result and decided to send for the same skirt in Cobalt Blue. I went up from a size Small to a size Medium as I felt the elastic of the former was just a bit too firm. Sadly no faux wrap own Cobalt Blu=e was available! The length is too long as I am now barely 5 foot. However I have found that if I turn the waistband over the length is fine. I shall probably have the skirt professionally shortened some time, My waist is around 30.5 ins and turning over the waistband of the size Small is tempting Providence a bit. With the Medium it's fine. I like the weight of the fabric and fid it drapes well. I'm glad I gave in and sent for the garments, For Reviews I found it really helps me when reviewers gave more detailed size measurements, so here goes with mine: Size : 10 Waist 30.5 ins Bust 36C Height: Just under 5 foot.- Mary (18/03/2024)
SIZE: Small COLOUR: Bright Navy
I dithered for ages about this skirt. I asked for advice from members of the Kettlewell Colours group and finally sent for the skirt and the faux top in Bright Navy size Small. I am just under 5 foot, a size 10, more or less rectangular in shape ,weigh 7 stone 4, bust 36 with waist verging on 31. (Disgraceful!). I am giving all this information becaus II find that when others do so it is so helpful in my choice of size. I knew the skirt would be too long but have found that if I turn over the waistband it is fine. I love the colour ; I like the feel of the fabric; I like the heavy weight that results in the nice fall of the skirt. I sent for the faux wrap top in a size Small and in the same colour and now have a matching dress. Because I liked the garment(s) I decided to go for a Cobalt Blue jersey skirt but this time I sent for a Medium. The waist is not so tight and is fine, again folded over. (Sadly the cobalt Blue faux wrap was sold out!) I need some camisoles now. Must praise the speed with which items are sent and refunds given. Customer Service is also helpful. ( When garments are reviewed I really would love more details regarding the Buyer's size and measurements. )- Maryemm (04/03/2024)

I purchased this skirt to go with a silky roll neck in the same colour - it makes a lovely outfit with a wide belt and boots; it will also look great with any of the cropped jackets. I sized down, as I was wary of there being too much fabric in the skirt, and this was the right decision. I will no doubt purchase other colours in future.- Claire (19/02/2024)

As a very Cool Summer/Winter, I hesitated over the Stone colour for ages. I very much liked the idea in the photograph of the model with Stone Skirt, Stone Wrapover, and a bright jacket ...... Had a Silver been available, I would have bought the collection immediately ..... But Stone????? I have learned through experience that beiges truly look hideous on me. Well, one evening I found myself yet again looking at it ..... Only to find that Small had disappeared. Next day, it had reappeared and I decided to chance it - what had I to lose as KW is great on returns. The Stone arrived today. It really is a strange tone of neutral .... However, if you are a Winter then I would chance it because as KW suggests it does work! Glad that I chanced buying the Wrapover too. Usual issue as a Petite ...... I bought two of these skirts, the Bright Navy, and the Pansy as I like these colours and have a few tops to coordinate with them, including the Faux Wrap in Bright Navy. The style fits me well over the hips, is comfortable to wear, with a lovely drape and weight. I intend to wear a longer half slip under as it’s not fully lined. Being maxi length they were too long to suit me so I’ve had them altered to midi length. Today I collected the Bright Navy skirt and hope I’ll be wearing that soon. Lovely skirt, it is a nice heavy weight material and true to size. I had a LL but I think the L would have been better however I did keep the LL because I don’t like tight waists. I can be a medium in the faux wrap top but also a large so very versatile. I did get a mark on the skirt but unfortunately it did not wash out like I think it should have done maybe due to the type of fabric, not sure about that anyway overall a good design and comfortable to wear. Reply from Kettlewell - Tip for stains: dab a tiny bit of neat washing-up liquid on the stain and machine wash at 30 degrees as normal.

I've only just discovered Kettlewell Colours and have spent the last 2 months on a buying spree of the maxi skirts and faux wrap top together with matching camisoles. They are the perfect outfit for Xmas whether dressed up or down . The skirts drape beautifully and look good with boots or evening shoes. I am 176 cm tall and the skirts fall about 5cm above the ankle so more of a long midi but perfect for everyday wear. I've brought the skirts in colours Damson, Grey Teal, Pansy , Bright Navy and Mole and they all look absolutely fabulous. I’ve now bought a faux wrap in the same colour and hope to wear them together during the Christmas period. Fantastic! I'm very happy with this skirt. Even though I'm a Spring, I do need a nice black skirt for certain occasions. As others have said, this has a lovely drape and swing, and I very much appreciate the lining and the well-thought-out elastic waist. This was a floor-sweeper on me, so I did have it hemmed up by 5 inches or so. Great with black boots and the aqua Chloe jacket. Came back to get another in the Pansy.- Louise (10/12/2023)

Love this skirt! I tried several colors and kept the Mole as a good season-spanning neutral for a Summer. The Damson was gorgeous but too dark for me. I'm 5'9" and found it maybe 2" too short to be a true maxi skirt on me, but it works with ankle boots. It falls, and swishes, just right. Absolute versatility in a skirt! Beautiful shaping from waist over hips and then just enough drape to give a bit of swish. The jersey drapes well. At 5ft 3ins size 12/14 (the medium fitted perfectly) natural romantic blue spring hour glass. I have shortened the skirt by 3 inches. More because I wanted the skirt to be less formal and show ankles. Looks great with trainers or boots and in the spring will look good with sandals. I am wearing it alot with rachel and chloe jackets for daytime and short tie wraps for more dressy. My second skirt in this style. The damson is a gorgeous colour deep and rich. The fabric is really nice quality quite heavy weight feels expensive. I bought a Large and this is fine for me very comfortable, I could have gone down to a medium I think but happy with the fit. Its very swingy and gorgeous to wear dress up or down. I adore these skirts, and they are fast becoming my uniform with a Roxy, Rachel, Chloe or (if we get a winter) merino knitwear. I have been collecting a couple every year, but this autumn I have gone quite mad - Emerald, Cobalt, Raspberry - and now I see that Pansy is on its way! Midis and shorter skirts can cause a shoe problem for me, but the KW Maxis suit any kind of footwear without ever looking frumpy. I love the way they can be made into an instant dress with a matching top and KW belt, spanning the seasons with different styles, from vests to Silky Roll Necks. A truly wonderfully swishy comfortable skirt which can be worn for any and all purposes and occasions. You can dress it up for a ball or down for a summer picnic. And th emerald colour is SUBLIME. I am only 5 ft 1 so with flats like sandals or trainers I fold the waistband under and wear a belt but I can also wear it with heels or platforms if I don't fold the waist band under. I wear with with a matching emerald Betty for a ball dress with a metallic pink belt or with the emerald faux wrap or Cara V for a more casual look, but still like a dress? Or even more casual with different colour tops and they can be sleeveless, short sleeve or long sleeve, then rock up the colours with a contrast belt as well as a different colour jacket ( the Rachel is my first choice) and a contrast bag and you've got plenty colours and options to play with! Such fun, such joy and such ease: then just smile when you receive plenty of compliments! I'd still love pockets hidden into the side seam but I also know this can cause unsightly gaping.... I'm sure there's a solution, maybe it's a zipper as accent?- Susan (19/06/2023)

Very happy with them, although I really wanted another weekend skirt, which has been out of stock in my size now for ages, apart from a couple of autumn shades. Since selling the company, stock levels generally seem to have gone down, possibly there's a tighter hold on the purse strings. I had not considered this skirt before but I was inspired by the live with Leesa Whisker to give it a try. I am 5’ 7” and it is ankle length on me which is perfect. I am a size 14 on my bottom half and ordered the L. It is perfect, nicely swishy and very comfy. It is quite close fitting around the top tummy area and will need the right undies to give a smooth line but otherwise I love it. I ordered bright navy as there wasn’t much choice left but I think it will be a very useful colour. I love the Jersey Maxi Skirt. I bought it in both the Brown and Navy (Spring colors.) Not only is it stylish, but it is comfortable too. I can dress this up or down which makes it a perfect staple in my wardrobe. I am 5'6", 150 lbs and I have a short torso with long legs. It hits me at a great length. I bought this in Brue Spruce with already having a Cassis one and a Leaf Green one last year as a Leaf Autumn. They are long but perfect for me at 5ft 8ins and M. Hardly any of the other KW skirts or trousers are long enough so I have up buying them a long time ago, but occasionally try now that Melissa and Louise dies those encouraging videos! These skirts for me are so easy to wear. They flow with elegance, have weight, and are wonderful to dress up for any occasion with smart shoes or boots for the darker ones in the winter. Blue Spruce is a fabulous colour for all Autumns. For me the colour in that quantity of a skirt or trousers - so below the waist - is terrific. This is my 5th Maxi skirt to date and I love them, I’ve worn them casually and dressed up. They are well made and easy to launder. I am 5’7” and buy the medium size. If I want to wear it midi length I turn the waistband inwards as I find it to be less bulky. I bought this skirt for wearing to work in the chilly weather. It’s a soft fabric that swirls nicely and I love the swooping seams around the hips. The lining is also great for not clinging. Love love love these skirts and the mole is just a gorgeous dress-up color. Very dignified and refined in my opinion. I like it even better than black, just beautiful. Grrrrrr ...... The lengths of these skirts are all over the place! I have two from previous seasons ..... One came in at 34.5" and made a maxi for me, the second was 36" and I had to have shortened. This one? 39". I will keep and have shortened because the shape is fab and I like the over all effect, as shown in a recent blog, of wearing this skirt with a matching vest and bright or metallic belt. This skirt and top combo works really well as a two piece. Although they are sold as separate items, the brown I purchased is exactly the same in both pieces-so it works perfectly for me. Thank you, Kettlewell for catering for taller customers who don't wear black! I've been trying for years to buy a navy jersey skirt that fits and is long enough. This is a useful, good quality skirt which hangs and moves beautifully. ( I tried the Alice but I'm 5'10" and short waisted and that style didn't hang well and looked skimpy on me) .This one is much better, even though I had to size up and wear it on my hips to get the full maxi length. Pricey, like all Kettlewell items, but a good heavy weight with lovely drape. I've found skirt sizing at Kettlewell to be woefully inconsistent. This one runs a smidge large. And looooong. PLEASE MAKE PETITES!! I have to turn the waistband at least twice to make this skirt wearable as I'm only 5'3". I've read reviews from plenty of others that have requested petite sizing as well so I'm not sure why there isn't any? I know black isn't for summers, but it's not near my face, and does pretty much go with everything, so I dared. I actually use this as my walking skirt. Having discovered the lovely skirts on this site, and how comfortable they are, I have pretty much shunned pants these days..lol! Anyway, despite the issues, I'm a devotee to this clothing line. Been waiting YEARS to find my colors available in this way!! LOVE Kettlewell, and building almost my entire wardrobe from these lovely things. I'm a dark/cool/deep summer so I'm pushing myself into brights that I really thought would overpower me before I knew. Only Kettlewell seems to have nailed down the seasons variations and what suits them so well. Overall I must say I am absolutely thrilled to have finally discovered this company. Lovely skirt, really comfortable, high quality, good weight, washes well, doesn't ride up when you walk. I've been wearing it loads. The reason I'm marking it down is because I'm 5ft 1 and I had to get at least three inches taken off the hem, otherwise it would've been a trip hazard. Because of the amount of fabric involved, this alteration cost me nearly £25, thereby greatly increasing the cost of the skirt. This could so easily have been avoided if only Kettlewell would listen to their customers and make a petite length, something we've been asking for for ages.- K (30/10/2022)

I am returning it however as at 5 ft 2inch it touches the floor and I am reluctant to pay more to have it shortend for fear that it will spoil the way the skiirt falls. I have several of these skirts and have tried them in both S and M sizes. I’m on the cusp between the two. I have an S that is fine but had to return another as it was too tight across the hips. In size M, the waist is a bit loose — but quite comfortable and I have had no issues with tightness over the hips/backside. Can approximate the slightly shorter length of the S (which I prefer) by turning the waistband over. I’m 5’8. Anyway: it’s a lovely long but not baggy skirt with a delightful swish and twirl. With a KW top in a matching color you’ve got a comfortable dress! It’s really hard to find tops/bottoms in identical colors these days, so grateful KW does this.- Jani (15/10/2022)

Lovely skirt - great colour and fabric is nice and stretchy; offering movement and the ability to 'stride out' a bit. The only downside is being a bit smaller (I'm 5ft 4") I found the skirt to be too long and so had to have it taken up. Whoever designed this skirt deserves a medal! Super flattering and skims rather than clings - smoothing out all lumps and bumps. It's swishy too! I ordered a Dark Olive size L - I'm a good size 14 and 5ft 6" - the fit and length are perfect for me. I've tried it on with my new Dark Olive star print v-neck and it looks great - perfect for a work do or a smart event, with high heeled boots. I can also see this working really well with my scoop necks and jumpers plus flat boots for a day time look. Fabulous skirt in leaf green as an Autumn, which I got to wear to an outdoor function at Bradford Cathedral when the weather was better than now. Because there is weight in the skirt and that it is lined, you don't get lumps and bumps showing as it hangs really well. Would like another one in a more interesting colour than the Autumns are shown, even a nice Winter White for next spring. or an orange, or a suitable blue, not juut more teal or laguna. Just don't want to wear heavy colours like dark olive green, plum, marine navy, pecan or brown in the summer as an Autumn, but might consider the Grenache for the autumn if still there. It also has good shape to it, and not just an ordinary a-line-type skirt. Lovely length for me at 5ft 8ins, and always look at Melissa's videos so I can judge the length of something on someone who is 5ft 10ins. Would be very useful if the catalogues actually gave the size being worn - although they're all thin and can't relate to them so always sending stuff back because of size. But the height of the models as per M&S would be really helpful and perhaps cut down on the returns, particularly trousers.- Una (26/05/2022)

Lovely skirt, purchased in mole as I wanted a light/medium neutral. At 1.55 m, it is ankle length on me and is in a much more substantial fabric than the Weekend skirt that I spent a lot of the summer in. I do slightly prefer the cut of the weekend skirt over this, but don't like exposed ankles in the winter. I love the colour of the lining - it is a better match for my pallette than the skirt itself. I have been looking for a good quality longer skirt that with boots etc. would suit the colder weather. This is a lovely colour and easy to match up with my jumpers.. Fits nicely, size 12 was perfect,longer than i exspected but good quality and i am satisfied with this item..... just one point, the material is not noquite the quality pne would expect for the price, as with most Kettlewell products it falls just below the mark. I love this as it's so practical. Bought in Plum Purple, which goes with most colours in my existing Autumn wardrobe. These skirts have a lovely, slightly heavier weight to them, making them cosy for the winter weather, worn with tights and boots. Honestly I'd say I'm not a skirt person as a general rule, but find myself reaching for this for both daytime and evening wear, as it's so comfy and easy to dress up or down. Tried to buy this skirt last year, but left it too late and there was no purple ones left. So this year got in early. Skirt is a nice ankle skimming length for me ( 5'6") and good heavy jersey. My Maxi Skirt in plum purple has just arrived. It is beautifully styled and excellent quality. I am absolutely delighted with it as it feels luxurious and swirls delightfully. Just to say..... I love these skirts and have five of them!!! Black, Navy(2), back berry and French grey. So you see I love them. I am 5 ft 3 tall and they are a perfect maxi ankle length on me. I think the length is determined as much by body proportions and fit/ size as actual height. My first navy skirt was an LL which going by the size chart I needed however it was too long but I didn’t return it as size L wasn’t in stock to try, so I shortened it. When size L was again in stock I bought another and everything is perfect, so over the last couple of years it has become my go to skirt, along with my other winter palette colour ones. I am short waisted, but also as it fits snuggly over the hips (not tight) this adjusts the length too. I often find skirts which are a little shorter cut me off by hitting the wrong part of my leg so I actually look shorter, this one has an elegant sweep to it which I understand- from others, makes me look taller! I shall definitely buy more as they can be dressed up or down to suit most occasions, they are lined which means they are quite warm if going away to a hot country. Love this skirt. I’m a jeans and trousers girl, but I had abdominal surgery last month and I have been forced to revamp my whole wardrobe to dresses and skirts. This skirt is brilliant. (Please see my previous review regarding the fit of the skirt) I liked the flattering cut & drape of this skirt so much that I ordered a second colour! I do wish the lining was longer (to make it wearable across seasons) but, since it's fairly opaque even without the lining, it's bearable since I just layer tights underneath. Also wish to echo previous reviewers' requests for a variety of leg lengths; sure, we can alter hems on jeans etc, but this sort of jersey material is too stretchy & heavy to do so easily. I'm lucky this skirt length worked for me, because I have average to long legs for my height & prefer things highwaisted, but most petite women aren't proportioned like that. I hemmed & hawwed over whether to order these, since I've seen many reviews either saying different things about the sizing or the length. I'm glad I trusted my instincts to go with an L not M in the end. I'm a pear shape (around a 10-12 up top & a 12-14 below) & just under 5ft4. I found the length just right on me when worn highwaisted, with enough room for both my hips & the lining. The waistband, however, is a couple of inches loose. So I'm yet another petite in need of alterations on this skirt, albeit for different reasons lol. As I have worn my two print maxi skirts to work at least once every week since September, I decided to add a plain skirt in one of my dark neutrals (Navy) and size down to a ‘small’ (I’m 5 foot 4’’ and now more a size 10 than a 12). This skirt feels and looks just as great and is the same beautiful quality, complete with half lining. The weight of the fabric and clever design means it drapes in a way that doesn’t add bulk but flows and has just enough ‘swish’. Lovely fabric and the seaming gives it a nice drape and shape BUT is is much too long. I could make another skirt out of the fabric I would need to cut off to make it wearable. And cutting so much off will ruin the shape and drape. Described as a midi, it is actually a maxi - but only for those who are at least 6 feet tall! Unfortunately I had to return this skirt but thought it would still be useful to write a review. I am 5’ 5” with long legs that are similar in length to a 5’8” person and the length was absolutely perfect for me. The skirt hung above my ankles like a long midi. If Kettlewell made more skirts in this length I would definitely buy other designs. I also liked the fact that the material lies flat against the stomach so no bulk and it hangs well. I have a very short upper body and waist which made me feel a bit frumpy so it didn’t suit my shape. The model in the video has a much longer body than I have and looks fabulous so I have concluded that it’s not the right style for short bodies like mine. This is my first purchase of clothing from Kettlewell and I bought it in the Soft Navy colourway which is lovely. I vary between sizes 12 and 14 on the bottom half and so I ordered the medium and large. The large was perfect and the fit and length so flattering, I particularly like the seam detailing which just lifts it out of the ordinary. A great everyday skirt but I can also envisage being able to dress it up for an evening out with the right accessories. I bought this skirt in both the Cassis & Bright Navy & straight away loved the deep rich colour of the Cassis. The skirt fitted perfectly round the waist (& I loved the pull-on style) & over the hips (I’m a size 10) but even at 5’8” it was a bit too long to be practical for me. As I can’t wear heels owing to knee issues, the most elegant autumn/winter footwear I have are smart Chelsea boots & somehow the ensemble just didn’t work for me. Also it was bought very much as a “going out” skirt (wishful thinking, I know!) but living in Manchester & under much tighter restrictions than most of the rest of the country, I realised it would probably just live in my wardrobe till next summer........ I’m 5’6 and the length was perfect for me. I was a little unsure having read other reviews but the length works with both flats and with wedges. This skirt has a lovely ‘swish’ and feels feminine to wear, easily dressed up or down. The lining means no VPL and a smooth shape. I bought the large as a I’m size 14 and the fit is just right and has some stretch for ‘those days’. My OH even commented on how he liked this skirt and offered to buy me the charcoal one before it went out of stock...not a common occurrence I promise you so I took him up on his offer straight away. I love the skirt, beautiful colour and weight but slightly longer than I prefer, same as my weekend skirts I find myself turning them over at the waist to shorten as I wanted to avoid shortening it at the hem which I think I will have to do as doing it with this alters the way ot hangs. Superb Jersey skirt. Well worth the price tag! Nicely cut to give swing. If you are a petite (I am barely 5' foot) then you will have a shortening service on speed dial .... But even shortening this skirt doesn't affect the swing. The lining means the upper portion over the tummy and hips does not cling in the way that the Weekender did. The jersey is also a little thicker which means it will be ideal for Winter wear ..... Very cold day? Layer with thick tights. High fashion look? Full white underskirt and cowboy boots. I really like this swishy skirt. I was after a plain one and it's not been easy to find one that's good quality, and not black. It hangs well and is nice quality, well made, thick and heavy, and lined as well. I am 5' 8" tall and it's a nice length on me, just above my ankles. I’ve never written a review before, but I love this skirt so much, I thought it’s only fair! Received today - mine is the marine navy and I’m wearing it with a pair of silver trainers, your v neck vest in white and the short flowing shrug/cardi in the same blue as the skirt. I feel and look fab. Great for a cold “summer” day and I think I just discovered my perfect plane travel outfit. So comfy, very stylish and incredibly versatile. I’m 5’9”, size 10 and I’m wearing size small - fits perfectly. My only gripe...I think your prices are about 25% too high. At £40 this skirt would have been well priced. I am so pleased you've brought the maxi back, perfect flowing length and ideal for taller ladies wanting a long skirt. Good drape and weight, I love these & have several in various colours Dove Grey is nice for summer, bright navy and indigo are gorgeous and safari too, all fabulous to wash, good to dress up or for casual wear or office. I've just added my 4th maxi to my collection. I love them - winter with boots and summer with trainers or sandals. Maybe some prints next year? I really like Kettlewell's Navy. You know how navy can be flat and boring and "uniform"? Well this one is rich and flattering and feels like a colour in its own right, not just a safe basic. Love these skirts, now have 3 different colours. So glad they brought this design back. They're true to size(I'm 5'6 and long legged rather than long bodied), don't show the lumps and bumps and are a good thickness with the lining over the top section. I absolutely love this skirt. Bought L in mole. Would normally buy LL but out of stock and other reviewers suggested sizing ran a bit large, so I thought I'd give it a go as I tend to wear a longer looser top with a skirt anyway. I so wanted to love this skirt but unfortunately it just didn't suit me. Beautifully made, it hung nicely but as I am only 5' 4" it overwhelmed me a bit. Had it been calf length it would have looked great with boots. I suppose I could have got it shortened probably from the top so as not to spoil the "swish" but that would have added to the overall cost. I love the maxi skirts and have them in multiple colours from the last 6 years or so of maxi skirt styles. I wear them with various Kettlewell plain (or sparkly) tops and tie wrap cardigans or bolero tie fronts - and they suit everywhere. They are my staple work clothes (I'm a gp) but are equally good for shopping, relaxing, eating out or going to church - dressed up or down with jackets, necklaces and scarves. But I do wish the new lovely patterns had made it to the maxi style (the weekend skirt is too slim line for a pear-shaped mum of teens) I had my eye on the cassis one, the toffee one and the teal pattern but it looks like I'm out of luck...any chance of buying the material to make my own?! As regards sizing I'm just over 5 foot 9 with a 34.5 inch inside leg and find the skirt length perfect and the large size comfortable throughout the day ; the medium is just slightly too tight a fit for me. I also prefer the narrower waist band of this version as though the wider waist band of the previous maxi skirt looked smarter when standing it folds over when sitting and then can be uncomfortable. I bought this in Mole, size L. The colour is a very useful neutral which will go with very many colours. The waist is 33" which I'm going to have to take in a bit, and the length under the waist band is 38 1/2". I probably could have bought the M size. I see other reviewers have said the same thing. I have now completed the alteration of my skirt, and it is vastly improved by just being a bit 'sharper' (as well as smaller) PLEASE can we have smaller skirts...the clothes are not cheap, but the quality is good. so give us some smaller sizes, to save your loyal customers from either working to make them fit, or paying for alterations. Also, I am a 'Summer' which means I want summery things all year around. I don't want to wear the colours of the British seasons I want to wear the colours of MY season Give me lighter, clearer colours....I am wearing Canary Yellow in the rain!...and soft white, pink and lilac in the weather when others want to wear Beige and brown!...I AM colours! I bought this skirt last season and it was very big on the waist and hip, and very long too (I am 5'5" tall and 34 hip) My new one, in Blackberry, is also far too big on the waist and needs taking in in the hip too, but I am lucky to be able to do this myself. Like other reviewers, I too wish SMALL meant Small especially in trousers and skirts, or that an XSmall was available Having said that, the fabric on my new skirt is somehow softer and lighter, which makes it hang better, and the bottom edge is lovely and 'swishy' I will shorten it from the waist so that I don't lose the 'flare'...and take in the hip from the centre back seam whilst I have the waist apart. Love this skirt, but as others say, it's very long! I'm 5'6" size M and it's only just about wearable unaltered, reaching just below the ankle. I suspect I'll have to get it shortened. If I buy another I will try a small in the hope that it's shorter!- Sandrine Westcott (13/07/2017)
Good quality material. Colour nice in Indigo. Very flattering fit but several inches too long. I will keep it and turn over the waistband and hope this doesn't effect the fit. So please Kettlewell please bring out some shorter long skirts maybe in some brighter colours.- Jill Milne (31/05/2017)

I liked the look of this skirt but wasn't sure whether I could (should) do maxi skirts third time around. However, this is lovely - a perfect ankle length, it hangs beautifully and the half-lining does a neat bit of corsetry! The fabric is just the right weight and swings but doesn't cling. I loved the colour of this skirt (marine blue), the shape (excellent for a tall pear), the length (excellent) and the fit (M). I really wanted to keep it as I loved the look of it. I agonised over returning it but sadly I came back to the same old problem. I just can't wear viscose - I do keep trying.. I tried on the one my friend sent for and found it very long, and the waist too big, but, in the past I have found that the sizing of Kettlewell clothes can be a bit erratic, so I sent for the chocolate brown (my friend has the mole) Mine was slightly shorter and the waist seemed even bigger (small size), but I like the skirt and have been looking for a new maxi skirt everywhere. I needed to put new elastic into the waist, which 'hoisted it up' an inch or two, and although it is a little too full over the hip, that is not such a problem. I wish Kettlewell 'small' size was a small fit, or they would add extra small to the range and I also wish that they would do a maxi skirt in some brighter colours.- Jackie Worrall (15/12/2016)

This is the first item I have bought from Kettlewell and I'm really pleased with it. It's a good weight jersey so it hangs nicely. The colour (Blackberry) is lovely - not too bright and very versatile. Interesting about the comments on it being too long because it's just right on me, even a fraction shorter than I would have liked but I'm 168cm with long legs. A great block coloured skirt to team with different tops. Normally a size 10, I found the 'small' still too large round the waist, so a trip to the dressmaker was in order. The skirt now fits perfectly and I am hoping that the material doesn't cling to my thick tights which I am reluctant to give up in this weather. I agree with Pauline, this is a useful skirt, and a lovely style, if it were a useful length. but it just too long. Not everyone can alter the length themselves, and that process by a professional dressmaker could be an expensive addition to the cost, reducing my 'value' rating And 'useful' mmm! the Mole colour' is just that, but this is Kettlewell COLOURS and the wonderful thing about Kettlewell is all the colours! Dark and dreary colours are available on the high street, only Kettlewell offer cheerful colours all the year round. Couldn't we have a more cheerful selection of colours in this skirt Please? Maybe the new Almond shade or the Rustic Red to match the tassel handbag, or Diva pink to wear with the scarf? This is the party season, so let's party!- Jackie Worrall (26/11/2016)
Very stylish skirt in key colours. It is a good quality jersey material which hangs beautifully over the hips. The brochure clearly shows that this is a very long skirt and I have suggested to Kettlewell that offering a choice of lengths would be helpful. I ordered mine in mole and it is a great colour which I can wear with both patterned and self coloured tops. I have kept the skirt even though it is a good two inches too long as I hope to shorten it and for that reason I can only award 4 stars for style.- Pauline (24/11/2016)
