Ratings & reviews
Write a reviewThis is what bd of those pieces I can’t get enough of. I have it in three colors and hope to have more as it’s such a great piece to wear under a jacket or light sweater, as well as on its own! Love the cowl and wish they made it in a king or three Quarter sleeve as well!
Bought 4 on sale and love them all. - Blue Jewel, Cornflower, Scarlet and Apricot. I could have gone down to a small but I like the glamorous drape and open neckline. The fabric has an elegant sheen which I enjoy as a Bright Spring. Looks perfect with the cashmere gauze stole. The colors are very saturated. Some customers do not like the new fabric but, personally, I love it. As a Soft Dramatic who struggles to find sensible clothing which fit with a modern on-the-go lifestyle, I find this to be the perfect daily wear summer top and happy to have them in my closet.
Lovely colour and nice style. I am 5’2 and size 10 with full bust. I have the small but will be getting it altered so that it is less low and revealing. My alterations lady took up my previous two Betty’s at the shoulder and side so that it doesn’t fall open so much when I lean forward. With the alterations, it’s a go to favourite on the dance floor. I don’t find it easy to layer though.

I just received my new Betty cowl for the season in pink ice. I’m so pleased with the fit and the colour, which is a beautiful light pink but not too light for this soft summer. I hadn’t realized, however, that the material has been changed from modal to viscose. I find it scratchy and cheap feeling, sadly. This will likely be my last Betty. I will be sure to check the material content thoroughly with future purchases.
I loved the Grey Mist color, but not the style, so I returned. I purchased the Betty Cowl in Grey Mist, Size M. I'd purchased the top before and returned it based on the style, but I like the Grey Mist color and decided to give this top another try. I do have the long sleeve version in Smoke blue and love it, but there's just something about the sleeveless version that doesn't work for me. I tried layering it, but it still looks wrong on me. Perhaps it's all the fabric across the belly, IDK.
The cowl neck top is lovely however there is a major lack of colour choices in all larger size clothing on your website. I often want to buy an item and then find it’s either unavailable in larger sizes or else no colour choice. This applies also to your summer catalogue where new season clothes are not available. As much as I like Kettlewell clothing it really puts me off shopping with your company.
This cowl top is a great colour; not too dark and not a true burgundy despite the name, more a rich deep raspberry, so perfect for me as a Jewel Winter. I am so pleased this colour is still supported at Kettlewell Colours as it looks lovely on me and I now own four items in this colour.
Comments on new fabric and Betty fit in my review for Scarlet. This Pea Green wasn't for me; probs a win for blonde and redheaded Springs. (Jelly Bean in the merino is gorgeous, though, and much prettier than it appears on my screen; resisting the temptation to try Evergreen, coded for Au/Wi.)
Betty is versatile feminine style top. Have a couple in the former fabric; am a fan of the new fabric -- likely more comfortable to wear, more forgiving in hot weather also. Gorgeous shade of red I've needed for years. Sadly sent back as cut too generously through shoulders/décolletage (a problem with some previous Bettys as well); leaning forward to test gave quite the view. Too snug at waist; would be much better approx 1.5" wider across waist with the new fabric. Btw, KW, Scarlet is the most GORGEOUS perfect red, please offer more styles in this fantastic color.
