Grey for Springs

Grey isn't exactly the first colour that comes to mind when you think of the light, bright and bubbly Spring palette. But alongside bright navy, it is a sophisticated and modern feeling neutral for Springs. As a Spring, your greys never get very dark, and always have a warm 'living' feel about them - imagine the pale shades of grey of a dove. Never go too dark or into steely blue greys. Your greys can work well alone, but are also a fabulous backdrop of a pop of one of your boldest and brightest colours, in a lipstick, a scarf or even a tiny splash like a necklace or brooch.

The French styling of the fabulous Paris jacket adds a sophisticated touch to every outfit, and this grey version takes it to the next level. If you want to keep it really minimalist, go for a mock turtle in palest nimbus grey, but I love the look of bright aquamarine with grey too.

Keep it simple by sticking to your most sophisticated neutrals, with nothing more than a splash of lipstick to accent.

Grey doesn't need to be dull. Start with a monochrome background and layer on the interest - go as bold as you dare!
