Colour Conversation with Sarah Haran, founder of Sarah Haran Luxury Handbags
After 22 years immersed in the world of technology, Sarah Haran realised it was time to embrace her passion for design; creating a high quality handbag that combines beauty, versatility, and functionality, making day-to-night style effortless. And with that, Sarah Haran Luxury Handbags was born!
In our latest colour conversation, Sarah discusses colourful collections, best-selling bags and famous followings.
It’s wonderful to come across a brand that loves colour as much as we do! Tell us a little about Sarah Haran Bags and how you came to launch it. Have you always had a passion for handbags?
I think I have always loved handbags! I like to be organised and carry everything I might need for a busy day. My mum bought me my first handbag when I was about 12 and I still have it!
Do you have any personal favourites and what are your bestsellers?
I designed Dahlia as my first bag and she is still my favourite. She embodies our re-style concept beautifully, you really can create thousands of unique looks from just one bag. From the very beginning she has been our hero product and remains our bestseller.
We know each bag is created to give you endless looks - Tell us more!
I designed the bags with a completely unique popper system that means you can attach all sorts of restyle accessories to your bag. We have removable pouches, tassels and bows, to name a few. Of course, everything comes in an extensive range of colours so there's something to suit everyone!

We hear you have a celebrity following. Any names you wouldn’t mind sharing with us?
We have a close relationship with TV's Anthea Turner who was gifted a bag by a friend and soon became obsessed. Anthea now boasts a huge collection of bags, she just can't get enough! We have also spotted Kate Garraway, Jenni Falconer and Jean Johansson sporting our handbags.
Do you design with a specific customer in mind?
My philosophy is to firstly design for function and then for form. For me it is not enough to have a beautiful looking bag, it must also help me in daily life – for instance having a range of internal pockets or the ability to change the look of the bag in seconds. So many handbags have been designed just to look beautiful but are very often not practical or in any way functional.
We love how you incorporate colour into your collection – Orchid Pink and Tangerine being two examples. How important is colour to your brand?
Why have a boring bag when you could have a colourful one?! We offer a wide range of colours and prints to ensure everyone can have a bag that is an outwards expression of their personality.
Have you ever had your colours done?
I have - I am a spring! I have always had a colourful wardrobe, but learning which colours suit me best is a huge confidence boost, especially when I'm dressing for important meetings or work events.
How does colour make you feel?
Joyful! I founded my brand with the mission to bring joy to women, and what does that better than bright and bold colours?
Last great colourful buy?
I was recently on holiday in Florida and purchased a painting that was full of extremely bright colours. I love art and it definitely made me joyful seeing all the colours brighten up the room.
