Melissa's Christmas Message
I’m ringing the changes this year. Instead of looking back over the year that’s passed – the highs, the lows and everything between – I’m looking forward to a new year full of hope, potential and colour-charged positivity (I feel a range of Kettlewell rose-tinted glasses coming on!).
After all, we’ve got plenty to feel good about in 2022. Not only do we celebrate our 18th birthday in April (how can that be? It feels like only yesterday that John and I were enlisting our friends and family to model for our first catalogue!), but we have a special anniversary Zine lined up for you this Spring, and lots of lovely new prints filtering through to the new collection courtesy of our new print designer, Bec. As I write, my desk is a riot of colour – the team has been busy working on the layouts for the first Spring catalogue, and I have to say that they have the same effect on my spirits as being handed a beautifully wrapped gift from under the Christmas tree. Thank you Melissa, I love watching your instagrams and lives with Jo. Personally the last two years have been pretty awful. I suffered a bereavement just before lockdown and have struggled ever since but I find your blogs inspirational. Also can I say how wonderful it is to be able to buy from a British company with good ethics and fantastic customer service.

Thanks for all the Instagram posts re putting colours together, and the in-house videos particularly on the website with yourself and Louise, and one other whose name escapes me. Oh Melissa, that was lovely! No idea you aren't a natural speaker! You are always so ebullient and radiate positivity, color, and connection with us. Thank you for sharing your ideas on when things look dark or challenging of turning the point of view around to seeing that as a possible opportunity. The only certainty is impermanence and change. Reaching for a favorite color, feeling good about ourselves, and finding joy to share, smiling, all lovely things you do so well and that you've shared and created a space to share with us in the Colour Club. Thank you for your positive tips, as you say, colour always lifts my mood. As a fellow introvert who jumped out, years ago, into public speaking, though takes a lot of energy, it just shows how there is always room for growing as a person. I find it really hard to believe that you have struggled with speaking in public in the past because you are an absolute natural now! I love the KCC but also your Instagram lives. Like many I'm sure, I don't know how I would have got through the last couple of years without the Kettlewell gang. Can't wait to see what you've got for us this spring! If it's 2004, then I wasn't far behind buying from you! An Autumn turquoise top with a modest V neck and three-quarter sleeves that I washed and wore to death until in 2018 I got beetroot juice on it, which left its mark however slight - so finito!
