Top picks for the new season
In the face of the challenges of the past year, I’m constantly amazed that we even have a new collection to share with you, let alone enough new items to actually challenge me to find my favourites. But as always, I wanted to sneak in a few (ok, maybe ten) extra pieces on top of the five I was asked to pick. I have remained restrained, however, and stuck to only my very favourite pieces.
I’ve styled the items below for an Autumn, simply because we ended up with a Spring, Summer and Winter model this season, so I wanted the Autumns to feel some love too!
Supersoft V Neck
style notes: I couldn’t resist starting with this one! The Supersoft Sweatshirt has been a runaway success for the past couple of seasons, but we’ve had so many requests for a version that might better suit curvier figures. Enter, the V Neck! Dress it down with your favourite jeans and a Cashmere Gauze Stole, or smarten things up a little with Bella Trousers and delicate jewellery.
Print Culottes and Print Top
style notes: OK, so I might have snuck in one extra piece here, but only because I love the on trend co-ord effect of the Print Culottes and Print V Neck worn together for a jumpsuit look – add a belt to make the outfit feel finished. A pair of dangly earrings and a colour pop bag, and you’re good to go. Both pieces also work brilliant independently, paired with tonal or contrasting colours.
Tania Jersey Blazer
style notes: Add an extra boost of colour (and warmth) without feeling overly formal with the laid back Tania Jersey Blazer. I love the throw on feel of this one! Ideal for straighter body shapes, the long lean lines of the Tania Blazer will add interest and an extra colour to the simplest jeans and a tee outfit.
style note: Instant pretty, in a pull on skirt. What’s not to love? The feminine ruffle at the bottom of this skirt adds an extra bit of interest, and pairs perfectly with our plain tops, or add a Breton or Spot top for a bit of a twist.
Ribbed Boat Neck Sweater
style notes: Simple, classic and timeless, the rib texture of this sweater (and the bold colours!) keep it well clear of ‘sensible and boring’ territory. I love it paired with the gorgeously tropical Print Rosa trousers for a bold look, or a little more minimalist when half tucked with a ruched skirt.
