Pantone Colour Trends AW18

At the beginning of the year we introduced you to Ultraviolet - Pantone's Colour of the Year for 2018. I'd be the first to admit that I viewed it with a little scepticism, as purple can be such a polarising shade, particularly when it comes to clothes and interiors. While it's made some impact, I've got far higher hopes for this season's colour trend report from Pantone, which features a range of hugely wearable shades for every skintone.

Regardless of whether you are a slavish fashion follower or prefer to do your own thing, the Pantone colour trend reports are a great way of finding out which colours are going to be available in the shops for the coming season, in terms of both clothing and interiors.

While the combination of colours had me reeling at first glance - so many colours! - it means that there's good news for everyone, with at least a couple of shades for each seasonal palette featuring within the top Pantone shades.

And don't forget the neutrals! Pantone has also released its favourite neutrals in the form of the Classic Palette for the upcoming season.

You'll spot a failsafe soft white (which works for almost every skintone) in there, along with almost-universally wearable navy. If you have a cool skintone (Summer or Winter seasonal palettes) leave the beige and tan neutrals to the warm seasons, but ice grey will be perfect for you, or switch it out for nimbus and you've got another universally flattering neutral. In short, Pantone is embracing neutrals for everyone this season, and we think you should too - universal neutrals form the perfect basis for your wardrobe, regardless of skintone.

Oooh, thank you! This is so tantalising. There are some sumptuous shades in there, and I can't wait to see what Kettlewell has got for this new season!

Thank you for the Pantone colours. I so much enjoy your ideas & suggestions. Had my colour consultation 20 years ago - always grateful. Please could you rustle up some long (maxi or midi) skirts again. I have 3 and need more (autumn) Many thanks.
