New collection sneak peek SS18

Cotton Rib Jumper in Peridot

Hurrah, it's nearly new season time! I love this time of year, in both a life and fashion sense. Tiny glimpses of spring are beginning to pop up (hello bulbs), the new year feels like it's really beginning, and the new season collections are landing.

I am so impressed with Kettlewell's range this year. The team have taken colour obsession to new levels, working tirelessly to ensure that the Winter brights are brighter than ever, Summer's soft shades are effortlessly elegant, Spring's colour pops are ready to splash and Autumn's vibrant warm weather shades are out in force. Not only that, but the range of styles is huge. From sensible work tops to footloose and fancy free holiday outfits, it's all there in the new collection.

But I must rein my excitement in a little, and limit myself to just a few little peeks of the new collection before the big reveal in a few short weeks.

Claudia dress

Claudia Dress in Vermillion (available in 8 colours)

If you buy one dress this season, this is the one to go for. Wear it with smart shoes and a Paris jacket for work, add some party sandals for a night out, or wear it with laid back leather sandals and an Alexa biker for a casual lunch in the sun (yes, the sun will come back at some stage!). Made from supportive ponte fabric with flattering pleat detailing at the waist, this dress will hug and flatter your curves without clinging.

Cotton rib jumper

Cotton Rib Jumper in Icicle (available in 10 colours)

I am having one of these in every Autumn colour that's available. Alex, our Autumn model, looked so amazing in the peridot shade on our shoot that I am inspired to pair it with everything from denim shorts to soft white skinnies this summer. The 100% cotton fabric means it won't be too hot and sticky in the summer, but will provide that little bit of extra warmth generally required during the Great British Summer.

Neon!

Ponte Peplum Top in Neon Pink (available in 8 colours)

OK, not strictly a garment, but seriously, the neon shades that the Kettlewell team have created for this season deserve a mention in their own right. Winters, you will look bolder and brighter than ever in the amazing neon pink, while Autumns can rock the fabulous electric lime. Pair it with simple greys or taupes for an effortless colour pop, or go for dazzling creams and whites to really make it glow.

Metallic print scarf

Metallic Print Scarf in Copper - also available in Blue (worn with Alexa Jacket in Warm Stone and a Longline Scoop Neck in Treetop)

I predict a hit of the season. Metallic, camo and in the perfect colours for every season. What's not to love? And yes, scarves are still essential in summer in my world. In a country where the temperature can be eleven degrees in midwinter and eleven degrees in midsummer, I won't be parted from my scarf!

Culottes

Culottes in Marine Navy & White available in 4 colourways (worn here with a Cara V in Soft White and an Alexa Jacket in Fig)

These new Culottes in the exciting new spot print are going to be your summer wardrobe heroes. The stretch viscose jersey and concealed stretch waistband make them oh-so easy to wear and incredibly versatile -  stylish enough to wear to a summer party, casual enough to wear to the beach and comfortable enough to wear for travelling. They've got it all!

I adore Kettlewell in the catalogue, and am always tempted but am put off because your models are so willowy and slim. Please kettlewell, show all shapes and sizes in your catalogues and on line, not just occasionally, but as a matter of course! It would give a 5ft 4 pear shaped size 14/16 some encouragment and confidence.

I'm afraid I disagree about needing XS. I am a size 8 and the small usually fits me but only if the garment as some shape to begin with.I have bought none of the new styles this year. Everything is just shapeless I still hanker after something new, but with shape like the knotted top. Still love the basics, but now I have just too many of the same, plain style..

I bought the Claudia Dress in vermillion. It is a red not an orange. It is a yellow based red and also a light red. Chest area does not work with regular bra's but with a low cut bra. Bottom OK with no knickers. No need for shapewear even though one of the older girls, and also a girl figure. I cuffed the sleaves as they seemed loose. So like any other garment it can be styled. For me it is best worn on is own and simply.

Unlike Helen above, I would like more 3/4 length sleeves - we are all so different :). I find full length sleeves just get wet as I go about my day doing household things!

I have short inside leg - 26inch - so would love to see short length trousers - or cropped, as I can usually wear those as full length!

Love the colours

Heidi on Mar 02, 2018 12:36 PM

I agree about offering smaller sizes. I fit the Kettlewell S and am usually size 10-12 elsewhere. My daughter is smaller than me and was disappointed that she couldn't buy Kettlewell items. Having different trouser lengths (like M&S do) would be good as I tend to find the trousers are too long.

Carol on Feb 25, 2018 11:29 AM

Love the colour range and looking forward to new colours for spring summer. As I am a pensioner I find your prices higher than I would buy so I do choose carefully or buy in your sales. One thing why have you discontinued short trouser length I think you offer short regular and long.

Sian Williams on Feb 18, 2018 9:45 AM

I love the colours and the designs.

I'm a fairly average size (5'5'', size 12), with a narrow frame. I often find the dresses too long; skirts, trousers and jackets too baggy, which make them look frumpy.

Faye on Feb 18, 2018 9:14 AM

Yes, I agree with all the other posts. Please, please make smaller sizes. Your size Small is just too big for us size 8 ladies.

Hedgecrone on Feb 18, 2018 12:53 AM

I'm short and pear-shaped. It'd be lovely to have a blog featuring clothes recommended for different body shapes. I'd like to see a bigger variety of shapes and sizes of models wearing your clothes too. Come on -

step away from the size cliches, Kettlewell!

Jessie on Feb 17, 2018 3:06 PM

Another plea for smaller sizes - either an XS, or recalibrating your S to fit a true UK size 8. I love your things but have thus far only managed to successfully buy a scarf because everything else I've ordered has been sent back because it's too big. If you could accommodate a 6-8 I'd buy lots; I'm sure many other smaller customers and potential customers would too. Thank you!

Maureen on Feb 15, 2018 8:38 AM

Will the dress be long enough to cover tall ladies knees?

Sandra on Feb 14, 2018 4:49 PM

I love Kettlewell and as a Personal Stylist I always recommend you when I can. However, I too struggle with the fact that even your small size is too big for a size 8 or even a 10! So I can rarely buy from you myself or recommend you to my more petite sized clients. Please re-think your sizing so that we can all take advantage of your lovely clothing range.

Thanks

Please do more tops with full length sleeves, rather than 3/4. They are much more versatile!

Stella on Feb 14, 2018 12:44 PM

This looks inspirational! When will the Spring designs be available to buy?

Jayne smith on Feb 14, 2018 11:36 AM

Love the look of some of the colours. Please tell me the tops will not all be crew and slash necks but will be scoop and V. I like the look of the rib jumper but it looks high neck . Loving the peridot colour.

Hope there is a lot of lower neck tops in this and not just high ones ?

Morgan on Feb 13, 2018 6:54 PM

Please make a smaller size! The smallest size is too big for petite/slim ladies!

Annie on Feb 11, 2018 7:59 AM

If we could have more xs sizes ( or just recalibrate the S size so it doesn’t come up so big) it’d be fabulous- I end up sending so much back because It’s too big, and this all looks so lovely.

Una on Feb 10, 2018 9:46 PM

Hope that the thee of my XS students and between 5ft and 5ft 2 ins will find something for them as they are just too big! And for me a size 12 and not skinny at 5ft 8ins will find sone trousers this time round!

Corinna Mazzotta on Feb 09, 2018 7:26 PM

Such a shame that the lovely cotton (nice to see a garment with no wool content) jumper is a high neckline again. A slightly deeper scoop and so many more clothing personalities and body shapes would have been able to wear it.

Marie on Feb 08, 2018 9:38 PM

If you could cater for the smaller ladies I would buy all of my wardrobe from Kettlewell!

As a newbie to Kettlewell, quick question please ... Will the current full price Winter items remain available when the new Spring stock is up? Thanks!

Linda McKie on Feb 08, 2018 4:17 PM

I like everything, I love the culottes and the cotton jumper. Exciting!

klerry on Feb 08, 2018 4:10 PM

Colours look good, that's exciting, but now long retired don't need outfit to take me from work to evening, what i do need is comfy clothes, long tops to hid thickened waist, (definitely not little short jackets) easy wear to crawl on floor with grandchildren, warm - home not as over heated as office and cardigans and wraps that fasten, don't want flippy floppy wraps and shawls, can't do anything if I'm constantly grapping at gapeing and flappy clothes.

VALERIE BALLARD on Feb 08, 2018 9:04 AM

I can see I am going to spend a fortune this spring, I like everything I've seen here!

Jennifer Yates on Feb 08, 2018 8:32 AM

As a retired CMB consultant I still feel it frustrating that colours are still seasonal. My colours are autumn but have to pick out only the deeper colours and ignore the light and warm ones. Others aren't that fortunate and may therefore be choosing colours that are the wrong undertone, depth and clarity. I know you have attempted to acknowledge this difference but it still is confusing for customers diagnosed away from the seasonal set-up.

Olwen on Feb 07, 2018 8:30 PM

Lovely! Any items specifically for petites under five feet four inches?

Rebecca on Feb 07, 2018 6:41 PM

Can’t wait to see what other colours the culottes come in, they look so comfy!

Roll on spring!

Kitty on Feb 07, 2018 3:15 PM

Gorgeous! When’s the metallic scarf available? Also do you ever have promotion codes?
