Colour of the month - Red

raw-header_intro.jpg

December is imminent, and since we did a green for November, it seemed only right that this most festive of months should feature the only other festive colour of note – Red!

Red is such a complex colour, encompassing everything from coolest Carmine through to warmest Terracota, and everything in between, and there is so much to discuss in terms of how to identify and style your own best red that I’ve divided this Colour of The Month post into four segments, one for each of the seasonal palettes – links at the bottom of this page.

If you haven’t had a personal colour analysis, the good news is that Red is not off limits to you either, because True Red is one of those colours that sits at the point where all four seasonal palettes meet, so whatever your skintone, it will work for you (which isn’t to say that a colour analysis won’t uncover an even better shade of red for you, of course).

Millie Check Skirt | Darcey V | Roxy Shirt Jacket | Merino Infinity Scarf

Style notes: True Red can be styled numerous ways – to make this outfit more classic feeling, switch the Bright Violet Roxy for a Light Navy Chloe Jacket, or to make it even bolder, try switching for the same Millie Skirt in Pink Fizz & Blossom or Emerald and Black. True Red’s possibilities really are endless!

Thanks Jo. Wearing my garnet sweatshirt with french grey merino scarf today. Feeling good! Never thought of this combination before...

Really helpful, thank you.

Fascinating and inspiring as always, Jo! Reading the other seasons’ advice brings my own into even more focus.

BTW you may want to look at the second outfit for Winters. You refer to the Vintage Collar but the outfit is shown with the new painted scarf (and no Vintage Collar).

Kettlewell Colours: Oops, thanks Kathy - all fixed now!

Diane :-)
