Bring on the sunshine!

This is always one of my favourite posts each season! Even though I've been allowed to see the new collection several times already (when it's being selected, when colours are being coded, when the catalogue is being written), it somehow always seems far more exciting and real when I get to share it with you.

I have got LOTS of favourites this year, but as always I've been strict with myself and stuck with my absolute favourite five.

stripe pocket dress

If this isn't a bestseller I'll eat my hat. I actually wanted to choose all three striped items for my top five list, but I thought that might be a little excessive! I just love the stripe combinations Kettlewell have gone for this season, and I think the fabric and cut are perfect. Particularly adore the contrasting angle pockets on this dress.

love colour tee

If you are any sort of follower of fashion you'll know that slogan tees are quite the thing to be seen in this year, and if you're not, who could disagree with the sentiment of this one?! Pair it with your favourite relaxed jeans for effortless summer dressing.

The shoes!

I am so excited about Kettlewell's first foray into footwear. Choose subtle tonal combinations or go bold, but whatever you do, go for one in your palette. The toecap design of these shoes emulates the classic pump design by Chanel and is a genuine timeless classic in my opinion.

milan crew knit

The easiest jumper you'll buy this year in a gorgeously soft but not overly hot merino/cotton mix. Pair it with a vest and cotton skirt for cooler summer evenings, or with shorts or jeans for casual chic all year round.

daphne blouse

That holy grail of work tops - one that translates beautifully from daytime to evening simply by discarding your formal work jacket or cardigan. The lightweight viscose fabric drapes beautifully, flattering your curves and skimming over any lumps and bumps. Pair with our new Rosa 7/8 trousers or our signature ruched skirt.

I agree completely with Linda McKie and Janice Skelton about sleeves. In addition there is not a below the knee option for me: I am tall and an older woman, and as an LL the horizontal stripes of the long dress are not so flattering

I too love the look of the new prints ; am really hoping that you will use the trouser prints for some bright maxi skirts and do some 3/4 sleeve tops in these and the other patterns !

Linda McKie on Mar 03, 2017 3:00 PM

Just a thought - if you are going to make two styles from the same patterned fabric, how about making one of them fitted, with no sleeves or tiny sleeves, and the other one semi fitted or loose, with elbow length or three quarter sleeves? Then you would have something to offer all ages!

I love that butterfly print, hoping for something with sleeves in that print, pretty please!

We have more new styles and colours arriving between now and the end of April so hopefully there will be something for everyone. We do listen to your comments and pass them on to our design team.

I have your new catalogue and I am Sooooooo disappointed. Beautiful new prints but not one item with longer sleeves for older ladies like me, not even an elbow length. Have you no older ladies on your staff to keep you in touch!

The new collection is beautiful, best so far! I will definitely be sending for the striped dress, and the patterned trousers. The patterned fabrics are lovely, and I think will be a big success. I am very disappointed to see they all have no sleeves or very tiny sleeves, I would love to see something with a bit more coverage - I will keep my fingers crossed for later in the season.

When exactly is your spring summer 17 range going to be available because I'm getting fed up of waiting to spend my xmas gift vouchers.

Jackie Worrall on Feb 22, 2017 4:16 PM

I do hope this is not it! The Daphne top looks OK, if you wear things without sleeves, but the tees woth a slogan? No thanks.

Can't see the dress on this pic, and a jumper? It's just a jumper, and probably more expensive than most other ordinary jumpers. I will now go to the next article to see if there is anything to get excited about

When are the shoes going to be available?

I "discovered" metallic shoes a few years ago and am now a massive fan. Not only do they go with almost everything, but I particularly like them with white jeans - they look classier, in my opinion, than white shoes. I'm in the USA so would be nervous of buying shoes in case they don't fit, but I hope these are a big success for you!
