How to wear Teal for Summers

Most Summers don't immediately leap upon teal when they first get a colour analysis. They are too busy being thrilled with the endless range of blues, pinks and greys that comprise a large proportion of their palette. But over time, some of the less immediately obvious Summer colours start to get some attention; primrose, burgundy and, yup, teal.

Summer's teal is, above all, a softer shade than the other palettes might wear, with almost a dusting of grey over the colour. It tends to fall either at the very bluey end of teal, almost a petrol shade, or at the very greenest end, where it slips into jade. In between fall a whole load of turquoisey shades which belong to the warmer seasons and can be left well alone.

Teal falls on the edge of your palette, so pull it into place by pairing it with anchoring blues or soft greys. Or if you're feeling a little bolder, add in a bit of contrast with soft white and burgundy.
